For those that have been to the bahamas..

Just wondering if anyone could give me the heads up on where the best place to swim with the dolphins would be. I want to book a trip to the atlantis but swimming wtih the dolphins is a must do and i want to make a reservation for that before i book a room-thanks!

Hi! My family and I vacationed on Grand Bahama Island in May. There is a place in Port Lucaya called UNEXSO, (underwater exploration society), where you can swim with dolphins, along with other activities. I can't tell you much about it, except they do have a website, www.unexso.com, which has tons of information. We didn't do a dolphin swim because we visited Discovery Cove in Orlando a few years ago, and swam with the dolphins there.

I know this is a different island than the one that the Atlantis is located on. We stayed at Our Lucaya Beach resort and absolutely loved it. It is a beautiful resort right on the beach. Gorgeous beach area, huge pools, and within walking distance to Lucaya Marketplace and tons of restaurants. Also close to the casino, which is good and bad.



I'm not sure if it's easy to contact Grand Bahama Island at the moment. I know due to the hurricane that many of the places don't have phone lines or e-mail.

hi..i just went to nassau as a port for a cruise and the dolphin was a must do for me as well.....on blue lagoon lake, they have dolphin encounter and dolphin swim....the encounter you were in about waist deep water with the dolphin (whici is what i did, i have some pics if u would want to see them) ...the other option is the dolphin swim, which i want to do.....have a great time

Try the swim at Blue Lagoon. The catamaran pier is not too far from the Atlantis. Say "Hello" to Fat Man and McGyver (two of the dolphins). My son still talks about our swim.
