For those that are in Florida now...

I would like to add most attractions the area you are are waiting in is inside or protected from rain. This rule seems to me to apply to all parks except resort pools and water parks.

Has it rained lately at WDW?

Still bone dry in South Florida (Boca Raton/Fort Lauderdale).

Still bone dry in South Florida (Boca Raton/Fort Lauderdale).

It poured rain yesterday afternoon/evening all over near the parks. Heavy rains and some pretty good winds for an hour or so. This is from the local TV station here in Orlando from yesterday.

Much of Central Florida was drenched with rainfall Tuesday night. The wet weather is expected to continue Wednesday afternoon.

Here are some 24-hour rainfall totals, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne:
  • Daytona Beach International Airport, 7.95 inches
  • Southeast Ormond Beach, 6.37
  • Northern Edgewater, 5.58
  • Northwest Lake Mary, 4.56
  • Magic Kingdom, 4.27
  • West Melbourne, 3.76
  • Kissimmee, 2.00

My mom in Coral Springs said its so bad the water from her pool keeps evaporating :flower1:

Probably every pool is like that,we had a hose putting water in ours for hours,it must have been 8 inches below normal.I watch YouTube videos of Orlando locals like Tim Tracker so I know Orlando's been getting rain, but in South Florida we are bone dry.It rained in late May and the grass started growing fast and turning green, then it stopped raining and now it's turning yellow and brown.

Thanks for the info! It is so hot and dry here in Boca Raton it is horrible! I'm hoping for rain at WDW next week to cool things off, otherwise I don't know how we are going to make it if it is anything like what we are having. Just brutal!

LOL hey hey not too much when we are down in the world...

The daily afternoon thunderstorms have been starting up anywhere from 3pm to 7pm for the past 3-5 days.

We arrived today, staying about 8 miles west of WDW. The thunder started around 5, but it didnt actually rain until around 6. It poured hard, but was over in probably 20 minutes though the thunder lasted longer.
