I am going with a friend of mine and between the two of us we have a 10 yr. old boy, 12 yr. old girl, 13 yr. old girl and twin 14 yr. old girls. We had asked where they wanted to eat at MK for dinner. (Yes, they've all been there quite a few times!) They loved Liberty Tree Tavern, but decided on the castle. Well, Member Services just told me that they're not sure that Cinderella's Castle will be included on the Dining Plan for DVC members (she said they're still working out the details). Plus, I would have to put the total of the meal on my credit card ($337 :earseek: ) not even knowing whether or not it's going to work out.....So, we are trying to decide another place our kids would enjoy. Liberty Tree Tavern (been there quite a few times and love it -- should we do something different??), Crystal Palace (would they be into Pooh characters???) or Tony's Town Square. Any suggestions from those that have kids this age??? Thanks!!!! :earboy2:

My son is now 16, but it has been years since he would eat at the CP because of the Pooh characters. This may not be a problem for you because it's more socially acceptable (to teens) for girls to like Pooh characters at a later age, and your boy is only 10. I like to eat at different restaurants, so I would say do CP if you haven't eaten there before.

I have read many horrible reviews about Tonys. We loved it years ago, but the menu has changed since we used to eat there.

When my DS was a young boy he liked Cindy's and the princesses.
Then when my DS was a tween he hated Cindy's.
Now my DS is a teen (harmone thing) he likes Cindy's again.
Go figure.

Enjoy where ever you decide to eat.

I'm 16 years old, and I'm not crazy about CP or character meals. But it depends if the girls/boy like Pooh or not. When I went there, I loved Tigger, so I enjoyed it, but still didn't like having the characters there.

I like Columbia Harbor House and Pinocchio's in Fantasyland (a fast food place). They are both yummy.

How about the Plaza? You'd have a more laid-back atmosphere, and good ice cream concoctions for dessert. Or, you could do a meal at one of the MK resorts - 'Ohana or Kona at the Poly, WCC at WL, or Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. All would be easy to get to and from by monorail or boat.

Another vote for the Plaza. It's one of my fav's at the Magic Kingdom.

Edited to add:
It's also a favorite of my 14 y/o DD. She especially likes the desserts.

I am a DVC member, and I didn't know we could get the dining plan, when did this happen? I would be SOO excited if we could get it...

What about a quick monorail ride to one of the resorts where you have a lot more choices. Maybe Ohanna's or WCC ( boat ride away) would be fun.

The only places I can swear the kids (12-16) love are the Hoop-Dee-Doo (although they thought they wouldn't) and Hollywood & Vine over at MGM.

They also like going to the Contemporary for anything because they think it is so cool to get on and off the monorail inside the building. They actually prefer to grab a burger and fries at the Food & Fun center over Chef Mickey's.

They also say they like the food at Disney Quest, but they lie -- they just wanna go there and play.

Edited to add: I forgot. They also like Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge...and, of course, McDonalds.

They have yet to find Pizza at WDW that they like.

Have a great trip!

I believe we can start adding it to reservations after January 1st for APril and after. Check the DVC board for more information.

for pooh?? We just wanted a good breakfast in MK & I've always wanted to eat
