Do you lose all your recordings if you lose power? We had an outage last night and now all my recordings are gone, including the enitre season of 24 so far!!!!  Has this happened to anyone else? Will they come back? All my scheduled recordings are canceled as well....HELP! BTW, we have adelphia cable.

No, we lost power a couple of weeks ago, for a few hours. Never even occured to me that my recordings could of been lost. They were still there.

Yesterday, in the high winds...the TV went out for a few minutes (DirectTV) and this morning, all the recording are still there.

I am sorry you lost your shows. :worried:

I am now extra glad we got rid of cable. I am sure if we still had cable, all my shows would of been gone when we lost power. Cable stinks.

No, this has never happened to me. Maybe the box shorted out. Call your provider, maybe they can help you with it.

No, we've lost power more than once since having Tivo and not one time have we ever lost our recordings. I would be so upset, sorry that happened to you.

No. Just like you don't lose the contents of your computer's hard drive when you lose power. Now, I suppose if the DVR were writing to the hard drive when you lost power, it is possible it could have corrupted the directory pointers for your saved recordings. :confused3 Can u still record and recall shows?

I have DVR and have not lost any recordings due to power outtages :confused3

Nope, never lost recordings when we lost power.

Nope, we have never lost recordings. I was recording a DVD once and the power went out and I lost that one show. I imagine if you were recording something on the DVR the same could happen to the one recording too. But it should not have erased old shows!

We've got three TiVos, including one that is over three years old, has encountered numerous power outages, and still has a recording on it from two years ago.

Sorry tp hear that you lost everything on your DVR. Mine is part of my new computers media center and I've only had it for about a week. It does sound a little strange that you lost your shows saved on the DVR's hard drive. I know it's not the same thing, but when power does out, you don't lose stuff on your computers hard drive, so it sounds like something is wrong with the DVR recorder. I'm wondering if you didn't get a power surge into it and that some how has damaged the HD of it.

I don't understand how you could lose your recordings when you lose power. Aren't the recording stored on a hardrive type thing?? It might be your particular dvr, somemthing might not be right.

I spoke to the Oh so helpful adelphia cs and they informed me this can happened if the power outage causes the box to reset itself? Sounded to me as if the guy didn't really know what to say but its been 2 days and my recordings arent back!
