For those just back from WL-Scaffolding and refurbishments?

I am going to do my room request next week, and after reading a negative report on WL, I am a little nervous!!! I am going to request connecting rooms and was actually going to ask for ground floor patio rooms because we like the idea of having a patio to sit out on rather than a balcony? Has anyone else had experience with the refurbishment going on? What about workmen outside your rooms, etc. I hope I'm not going to be disappointed-I really feel for people who have had bad experiences!!!

Does anyone think it is a good or bad idea to ask for patio rooms?? My most important request is going to be the connecting because my mom has some medical issues, but other than that I would like a nice room. I have woods view reserved!
