For those interested in seeing Lilo & Stitch on the ship...

Just back from the 6-22 Magic and Lilo was prem-eared on Wednesday in the WD Theater. However, that was Cozumel day and since the ship didn't sail until late, and our dinner was at 8:30, we were at Carlos and Charlies during the first showing. We did see it on Thursday in the Buena Vista Theater. My 8 year old son said it was sad, but good

I must say that I agree...The Lion King is the very BEST Disney movie!!! I love the movie and the broadway show:) A part of me has "Fallen" for the little lion. I look forward to going to see Lilo and Stitch, as the previews I have seen and reviews I have heard have been great. I "Wonder" though if it would possibly be on my 3 day cruise that leaves port on Halloween?!?! If any one knows how long movies usually stay on the ship please post so we can all know! I don't think I will wait to see it aboard, but Disney movies are great to watch more than once....:)

Ok, now that it's out there more I'll say a few more bits on this one.

I still stand by my statement earlier to not miss this if you're cruising soon.

As to the violence, it was all with rayguns (which I was going to say look like toys, but they are toys if you have been to a Disney Store lately :) ) or other preposterous things that the kids do know are not real. Lots of Looney Tunes kind of stuff. Don't be concerned over it. A small spoiler, the 'blue punch buggy' in the commercials is being used by Stitch to defend himself from another alien that's not in the commercial.

SPOILER! READ NO FURTHER if you havn't seen it yet!! :)

Think of Stitch as a child, an undisiplined child with superpowers. A lot of the indicators are there, he says a 'bad word' to the Ruling Council. When you ask him something he reacts badly. a very immature child at the beginning. But his survival is on the line, so after hanging around with Lilo, he begins to learn a lot of good behaviors from Lilo and Nani and has to overcome his original design of being destructive. Yes it has some really sad points such as when Lilo is being taken away by Bubbles, but it has to to really balance out the movie with goals and some real life lessons.

I took my dd3 to go see it in the theaters. (We couldn't wait for our cruise). IMHO the violence is on the same lines as the Buzz Lightyear cartoons. She loved the movie.

We just got back from the 6/23 Wonder and they showed it six times in the Walt Disney Theater. There was a huge demand for this, so they showed it at 10:15 on the last evening. However, DD said it wasn't crowded.

She loved it. (She's 13)

I took my 2 1/2 year old daughter to see Lilo and Stitch last week and it really scared the heck out of her...she was upset at the beginning wih the shooting, then she cried because Lilo didn't have a mommy and daddy (why did they go away and nevr come back for Lilo she wanted to know) then Why was Lilos sister always yelling at her....the why are the bad monsters trying to kill stitch...then oh no the monsters have Lilo in a jar and are taking her into space.oh and the biggest one was how come the bad man is trying to take Lilo away from her family!!..she got so upset everytime one of the aliens got close to getting stitch....it was really to muh for her, I will be thinking twice about taking her to see anything like that for awhile!

We took our DD2 and DD5 to Lilo and Stitch last weekend. I was a bit leary as I had heard about the "violence" and we are careful about what we let them watch. They do NOT get to watch Saturday morning cartoons, for example, unless it is something like Little Bear or Blue's Clues. However, neither they nor I were bothered in the least by the violence which was portrayed in a very alien/cartoony way.

As an adult, I laughed and I cried throughout the movie. I would definitely see it again.

DD2 did need some comforting during the daring rescue sequence as she kept asking "Where's Lilo? Where's Lilo?"
