Delta has just announced that as of June 1, some of their longlaul international flights will have a new section at the front of economy - "Economy Comfort" - with 4 more inches of legroom and 50% more seat recline than regular economy.

If you're flying delta to the states after June 1, you might want to check on this. Obviously, it's more money, but maybe it's worth it.

Full email I got about it, gives a little more detail:thumbsup2

Get ready to sit back, stretch out and relax.

Beginning June 1, 2011, you will be able to experience more legroom and recline on our long-haul international flights with the introduction of Economy Comfort - a new section of seats located at the front of the Economy cabin that will feature up to four more inches of extra legroom and 50% more recline.

Customers who purchase an international Economy Class ticket on Delta will be able to choose Economy Comfort seats for an additional $80-$160 one way. And as a Silver Medallion® member, you and your travel companions on the same reservation will receive a 25% discount. Or, you can purchase a full-fare Economy ticket and select an Economy Comfort seat at no additional charge.

You may purchase and select Economy Comfort seats immediately following your ticket purchase. Choose your seat today at delta.com.

Enjoy your next international flight!

*International Economy ticket holders on Delta will be able to choose Economy Comfort seats for an additional fee. The 25% discount will be applied to the applicable published Economy Comfort seat fee.

i have the email on my other computer, so i didn't cut and paste...
though the email i have is a bit different from yours..

i have the email that was sent to platinum FF...
not that i'm platinum....i'm not anything at delta...
but my mom is (she flies a LOT)...she's been platinum for a number of years (first with NWA, now with delta as there really is no other choice out of detroit)..

anyway, for platinum, the new class is automatic and free when they buy any level economy ticket...and it's free for their flying companions too...

doesn't matter to my mom as she only flies business on longhaul flights...
and domestic she's always upgraded to first...

she's trying to convince me to fly delta in august...
