Now this is something I def know about. I have driven to disney 5 times in the last 3 yrs. (ages 4-18) I love the drive. ( I know call me crazy). between me and df we have 6 kids, (2nd marriage for both) and I have taken the drive with all 6 of them. We normally leave around 2pm and drive straight thru taking turns driving. On the way down we are on a quest, can't wait to get there so we just keep going. Stopping? no way, we get gas, go to the bathroom, no standing around, move it people, everyone get back in the car now!!! we only have 16 more hours to go... we take pillows, blankets, we make sandwiches in the car, the cooler is always full. the dvd player is always playing, of course they bring books, cd's, travel games to keep them all busy. Our kids were great, there was actually very little fighting. We make it to disney in 23 hours. We spend that day just lounging around the room and pool. On the way home, we always take side trips. Gettysburg, arlington National Cemetery, etc. so coming home is always longer, but then it helps make it the dreaded drive home and the end of vacation a little more interesting and the kids don't seem to have the "crash" of emotions since the vacation hasn't really ended we off to see somthing interesting on our way home.
