hey guys, they are going to start doing white house tours again sept. 16th. The only catch is that you must already have a ticket. To get one, you have to contact your senator or representative. I would suggest doing this way in advance. maggie

you can apparently do it up to 6 months in advance.

No need to be hesitant. For those of us that live here it is a wonderful place to be (except maybe the traffic). And if you could hear all the jets that have been practicing overhead here lately you would feel very safe. We went to the Air and Space this weekend and nothing is getting by those security guards.

Rats! We just went in July and there were no White House tours, the line for the Capital was huge and Ford's Theater and the FBI building were closed for rennovations. Despite that we had a great time.

We received your email regarding the White House tours. The White House procedures require us to have groups of at least 10 in order to place a request for a tour. However, we may potentially be able to match you up with another group that does not have 10 people, but we cannot guarantee anything. If you have any specific dates in mind or would like to be placed on a list to potentially be matched up with a group, please let us know. Otherwise, if you can gather a group of 10, we would be happy to place a request for you. As for your question regarding the dates of when the White House is open, unfortunately the White House does not inform us of which dates they will be open or not.

Thanks for the info, but there’s only the two of us. If we had eight I’d give you a call. It’s nice to know that they're beginning the tours again. We’re leaving on the 17th of this month. (6 days! ! ! ) Looking forward to see your area of the states. Just a quick question…are the paddle boats on the Tidal Basin still going this time of year???

We hit a few museums this weekend also. The weather was wonderful and the crowds were small! We usually wait till the fall to take the Metro in but the weather was great.

The guards were searching everyone, even small children. They were going through all bags, backpacks, and purses
