For the teachers...Do you job share?

I work in a district, and really want to job share with someone at another school. I interviewed with the principal for the job on Friday, and haven't heard anything yet. Sorry, but I am taking that as bad news, really. The other candidate for the job share is a male. She said we would hear in a couple of days, and I'm like, "What would take so long?" For those that have job shared, did you have to interview? Do you think a delay of a couple of days is normal?

If I don't get a job share, I'm going to go back to subbing because right now, working full-time is just not working for me!

It is only Tuesday, I wouldn't be all that worried yet. Things happen and making a decision takes time. Maybe they are calling references, etc and that takes time, phone tag happens a lot.

I would send a thank you card to the principal and give it a few more days.

Do they have to check references for a job share? I was surprised I even had to interview! I did send a thank you card. I hope I hear either way!

It is still a job and since you don't work in that school now, yes they will interview and check references. It could also be that the principal got sick or had meetings all day yesterday and couldn't get to the hiring process. It has only been two days, which isn't much time to make an employment decision.
