For the sake of 56 pts...what would you do?

I currently have booked for next year a value 2br and value studio at AKV. I decided to go with the value to save some points, but since we've only seen the models for Kidani (which we absolutely love) I'm starting to rethink my decision. I know the rooms are slightly smaller and that the the value 2BR will not have the extra bathroom that is offered at Kidani, and that it also does not have the seperate shower stall but does anyone else know of any major differences? What would you do?

save the pts. we stayed in a value 1 br & it was plenty big. also with the 2br you will have to bathrooms

We stayed in the SV 2 bedroom in May and I feel it was huge. We had more then enough space. We have a reservation in Aug. a value 2 bedroom in Jamba house. I think it will be just fine and closer to the counter service. I am a points miser and I can use those points for another trip.

We have never stayed at AK, I don't know what to say. However, Iw as wondering, for the Avlue rooms, don't you run the risk of having one of the rooms that overlook the walkway to the bus stop. Aren't they dark with no patio?

I'm in the same boat as you. We're going in April, and I have a 1-BR value reserved. I have gone back and forth, but you know what? We're going to go ahead and try it. I was talking to DH about my concerns, and he said, "What's the worst that can happen? We go and just decide not to reserve one again?" What a wise DH!!!

Here were my thoughts...
1) We save about 35 points by staying in a value room over a standard view, and 82 points over a sav view.
2) I've read where the rooms are 3' shorter in length on both the living area and master bedroom, so yes, it will be smaller. But, enough to matter? I'm willing to try it. My logic...I love OKW; it's one of my favorite resorts. But, the fact that the other DVC resort rooms aren't nearly as large doesn't keep me from staying in them.
3) With the values, you can get a sav, pool or parking lot view. So, we may end up have a better view with a value than if we booked a standard view.

My biggest concern is the tub/shower combo. There are 4 of us, so that means that 2 people can't get ready at the same time. But, as DH said, the worst that can happen is we don't reserve one again. If we like it though, it's a great way to stay at AKV and conserve points!
