DH and I are dining at CRT, Chef Mickey's and Cape May. I want to change Cape May to the Princess Storybook breakfast, but DH has reservations. He thinks it might be too girlie and since we're already dining at CRT... I told him to think about the great photo ops we will get. He told me to ask you. Ladies -feel free to chime in on this too. We appreciate your advice. :)

I'm a young guy and have no problem with character breakfasts - but would not want to go to a "princess one". But, if its one with Donald, Goofy, etc... that's great. No kids yet, so it feels a little wierd sometimes, but whatever...

I have not been to the Princess Storybook but from photos I really wish I were. Looks really beautiful in there and certainly fits a princess castle theme. Next trip does not include EPCOT so we are doing just CRT. Last trip we did do the Cape May Cafe breakfast and I was not at all impressed with it. No real character ambience, Minnie was great with us but the rest just buzzed by pretty quickly. I just got no feeling from the characters or the room decor. It is perfect for the Clam Bake, but not magical for character breakfast....

I vote Princess Storybook !
Too girly.....does he want his photo with a pretty Princess or two princess: princess: or a mouse in bathing attire....hhmmmmm...I know what the guys in my house would want ;) and they are 17 and over !

i gotta second pkp. i did CP a couple of years ago - pretty fun and i got hit on by one of the characters. will be doing chef mickey's this year, which sounds awesome. i don't want to do either CRT or akershus (partially because of princesses but mostly because of food). DGF desparately wants a princess meal, so we're doing akershus and i'm more than happy to let her have that for our vacation, ya know?

We went to the Princess breakfast at Akershus; my boyfriend enjoyed it. He loves character meals, ESPECIALLY the ones where the princesses are present. He enjoys hitting on all of the good-looking Disney characters. (He even told Alice at 1900 Park Fare last time that she was hot!)

DH agreed to the Princess one because we are bringing my 2 nieces, otherwise he would not go. He has no problems going to other character meals tho

PSB is a fine character meal for little girls, older girls, women, boys, and even men. The food is tasty--not out of this world, but it IS breakfast food, after all--and the interaction good. Jasmine is a frequent visitor to the PSB, and she's often a dad's favorite. . .okay, this dad, too! ;) Well, this last trip Jasmine was actually looking a mite haggard, as though she and flying carpet had been out too late the night before, but usually she's a hoot. To be fair, I have a young daughter, but I wouldn't be opposed to going to PSB if I had no kids. One man's opinion. . .:thumbsup2

The only time I ever felt weird at a character emal was when DW and I did CRT. It was just awkward when the characters would come over. All of the others were great. I guess it had something to do with them not having "masks" Since we have DD now we go to the psb and it is a blast, the characters interact with you on a completely different level.

I'm not a guy :rotfl: But I will say that Princess Storybook was my Dh and 13 yr old DS's favorite meal. Both of them really liked getting the attention from the various princesses.

Definetly to girly. I know it would be for me an he thinks it may be it probably will. :goodvibes

I drug dh to CRT with me many times before we had kids. He never hesitated about going. He doesn't care if there are characters or not. Now that we have 2 daughters he is getting drug to all the princess meals. :woohoo: He doesn't complain too much now. LOL He says he doesn't care if the princesses are there or not, he just wants to do something different since we always eat at the same place.

I just asked him what he thought about Epcots PSB. Here is his reply, "It's no girlier than anything else there. You just go and eat breakfast".

The only time he ever complained about doing a girly thing was on the Cruise. They were doing a Tea Party with Wendy. This was before we had kids and I didn't want to go alone. He was the only childless man in the room. He still complains about it. :rotfl2:

ROFL! My DH CHOSE PSB because he likes meeting Jasmine ;)

It was my brother (early 20s) and my DHs fave meal of our trip 2 years ago - he proudly displays that pic with Jasmine in his office at work. We are heading back in Sept and decided to do another character meal since his parents are coming and he requested that one again.

However, he has something about costumed characters - he HATES characters that don't talk back and refuses to dine or meet them. So the princesses are perfect since they can talk back. Strange soul, I know.

He's been very pumped about returning to PSB in Sept...

My Dh doesn't mind at all as he loves the beautiful princess. I even have a picture of him and his favorite one not at a meal but outside the park.

What a funny thread! I think it would be too girlie for my DH, but he is not as much of a Disney Dork as I am, and we don't have kids yet, so the mere idea of a character meal is a bit foreign to him. :rotfl:

Thanks everyone for the personal accounts. We enjoyed reading them and did a lot of LOL! DH says we can go. indigoxtreme - great pic! It helped seal the deal. :yay:

I've happily accompanied DW and DD to two princess breakfasts. The food was ok; the atmosphere was wonderful. Would I have gone if it was "me and the guys"? Nope. But then, somebody has to take the photos of a wonderfully happy little girl meeting the Disney princesses.

Seeing DD's princess: smile was worth every penny and every minute of those meals.
