Last December I thought I was so smart ...LOL. I taped several hours of Christmas music from CD to VCR tape thinking we could play them through the VWL VCR during our stay. Much to my chagrin, none of them played. I suspect it has something to do with Disney's VCR's not being stereo but am not sure. These tapes play fine on our home stereo VCR. Anybody have an idea on how I can make this work?

I'll move this to the DIS Tech board and see if some of our resident techies can help with this one. They have amazing powers and abilities!

Good Luck!

Force your home VCR to record in mixed mono. There is still no guarantee that this will work though. The stereo/mono track will record as two seperate but identical linear tracks that can be located at a slightly different place on the tape than the straight mono track from a dedicated mono VCR. If the mono audio head on the VCR @ VWL is cheap and is not a MIXED mono head, it may not "see" the stereo tracks when they are seperate. Production tapes contain 4 audio tracks which is why you don't have this problem ever with them. They use a left (stereo), right (stereo), standard mixed mono, and SAP (usualy spanish).

This is the way it was 2 years ago, so I'm assuming that is still the case.

Good luck!
