I've read good things about the Pliko P3 on these boards. My question is, how big of a child can ride on the little foot-board thingy in the back of the stroller?

I have a 15 month old who weighs 18.5 pounds. I also have a 6 yr old who would definitely be happy to catch a ride here and there. He weighs 41 pounds. Am I pushing it? I know we'd be over the weight limit, but it would only be for small periods of time. Has anyone else used it with an older kid?

Thanks! :)

My dd is 4.5 and about 40 lbs. She is fine in our P3. Her head is starting to go over the top, but for short time periods, my guess is your child would be fine. I will say that when she stands on the back when ds is in the stroller it is HEAVY!!!

I believe the combined weight limit for both seat and standing platform is 99 lbs. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

My 10 year old dd (only weighs about 55 lbs) even rode on the standing platform occaisionally ( say, if it was the end of a long day at the parks or we were trying to get to the other side of the parks quickly). She only does this at WDW. My ds, 3 , is about 35 lbs., so we are pushing the weight limit.

I will say it is heavy to push like that. My big, athletic DH has no problem with it, though.

Also, the older child cannot stand on it if the younger child is reclining in the seat. The seat back extends back over the standing platform, blocking it. That wasn't much of a problem for us, but your 15 month old may want to recline for naps, etc., more.

I love my P3. My 22 month old is 25 lbs. and my 4 1/2 year old is 30is lbs. It does get a bit heavy to push with both on board, but certainly better than the alternative of having to carry one of them. I use mine several times a week with both on board, usually at the mall on smooth ground.

My son just turned 6 (he's on the skinnier side) & it pushed very smoothly. :)

My daughter is almost 4yo and weighs about 33 lbs. and she rides on the back of ours with our 1.5yo son riding in the seat (he's 25 lbs.). It does make it a bit harder to steer, but other than that, no problems.

Oh, and we actually have the Peg Perego Centro Completo, but it's essentially the same stroller aside from the basket and handlebar designs. I think it's a bit harder to steer in general than the P3 so that might make a tiny difference.

We are huge fans of our P3. :thumbsup2

Kind of sad that DD has gotten too big for a stroller.

My middle son was still hopping on the foot board for quick rests when we were there in September. He was 7.

Great stroller for WDW. Reclines nicely, folds up like an umbrella, steers and rolls smoothly as well.

Great stroller!

A year or so ago my DD and friend (around 23# each) rode on the footboard together while DS (18# at the time) was up front. We also had our P3 at a family event over the summer and a distantly related 7-8 year old hopped on for a brief amount of time while DS was up front. Hard to push with the 7-8 year old on back, but it did hold for those few moments before I noticed what was going on (someone else was pushing at the time).

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the replies, everyone! It sounds like the Pliko P3 might be a good choice for us, and if DS6 wants to hop on for a ride every once in a while, we should be ok. :thumbsup2
