This will be our first Disney trip staying off-site. We are staying at the Lake Buena Vista Village Resort & Spa. (This is NOT the Buena Vista Suites located at the intersection of 535 and 536. The LBV Resort and Spa is located further south on 535 (Apopka-Vineland Rd.). It has a pirate themed pool area.) Anyway...

I'm looking for any information regarding traffic conditions in this area. We are across the interstate from Disney and from maps it looks like heading north to 535 will be the easiest/quickest way to get to the parks from the resort?? Are there any roads I should avoid during rush hours??? Or am I safe as long as I avoid the interstate?
Also, are there any toll roads in this area that I should be aware of??

Final ??? We have a Garmin GPS for the car. I saw a recent post where the writer said their GPS did not show any Disney destinations as it is private property? Anyone know if our Garmin will work?? It did get us to Downtown Disney when we were in town last December, but I don't know about any of the parks??

Thanks so much for any advice or tips. Hubby usually takes care of most of the driving on trips and since this trip is a gift to him, I don't want to make it any harder than it has to be...

There was a thread earlier on this resort. This resort borders SR535. If you check their website they tell you to input this address into GPS devices "15657 South Apopka Vineland Road. Orlando, FL 32821 " It's not too far and you have a couple of options for Disney access. South to Osceola Parkway of north to SR536.

No tolls to or from the parks (except for the parking tollbooths). Traffic should not be bad.

No, the garmin will have Disney locations on it. The issue was with the Mousesavers POI's. It may take some guessing on the address list unless you the address of the location that you need. You could preload Disney addresses beforehand (get the exact address off of the web)

That's exactly what I needed!! I was planning to input the addresses ahead of time, so I'm glad that will work, the post about the GPS had me a little worried!
Thanks again!

idk if Garmin has this feature, but with my cheap little tom tom, I was able to connect to their program and download locations that others had programmed manually into their gps. I have all 4 theme parks,DTD, and several resorts pre programmed.

535 gets backed up depending on the time of day and the time of year you are coming. There are little tricks you learn as a local to avoid the worst spots or how to expedite if you have to travel through a bad spot, but it's pointless to list them because they are all specific things you learn on a specific route every day.
