For my sanity...I hope everyone online reads this

:rotfl2:

I need to print this out and share it with a ton of people.

:lmao: I always remember how to spell definitely by first spelling out definite and adding an ly.

I think I do pretty well with the others. Thanks for sharing that, it was funny!

If people want to misspell there words, its they're write. Alot of times I would rather post fast then spell correctly. It might be wierd, but it doesn't make a difference weather I spell good or knot.

That list is REDICULOUS!!!!:lmao:

good one!!!

Always remember that your school principal is your pal..not a principle

I understand the difference between typing quickly and making typos and actually not spelling correctly... the first I can forgive, the second often makes me cringe. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as signs with misspellings -- I don't like to buy things from a store with an incorrect sign. As a parent and substitute teacher, I often find myself correcting just those things in the attachment!

That was a beautiful explanation of the difference between affect and effect.

Oh -- and it's dining (with one N), not dinning (with two Ns). You may have eaten your dinner, but you dined at supper.

It's "losing"...not "loosing". I cringe everytime I read it that way here on the DIS.

Someone should make a list just of the words that get misspelled on the DIS. Some of the creative spellings around here are simply amazing.

I need to print that out for my son. THAT's the type of lesson he'd actually pay attention to. :thumbsup2

Does the affect/effect test really work? I majored in English and I *still* can't get it figured out. Why have I never heard that explanation before. :confused3

(And as a former English major, my online typing/spelling is crappy but I really don't care anymore. :rotfl: )

Ha! You think the DIS is bad...have you shopped on Craigslist? I was shopping for a Dining table there for many months. I started to doubt myself that dining REALLY only has one N:confused3

And how many chester drawers did I see?? I don't think I saw Armoire spelled right once!
