I think it is something about that age of male. Sorry UJ your day will come. My dad went through it, my Mom was always a great help but then he would get the whiny attitude. My Mom worked out of town and he was retired. Now as my daughters started school my Dad took a bigger role. He would take them to school every day and then pick them up. That was their alone time with Papa. Then when Kody was at the end of Kindergarten my Dad died and school became a hardship for her. It was rough. SOrry got side tracked but I think maybe they start to go back to their helpless needing a Mommy stage. And maybe they think that if their wives think they don't need them then their wives will find work elsewhere? Jealousy?

Thanks for the other perspective. I've always looked up to my dad and maybe there is a part of me that doesn't want to acknowledge that he is getting older and may need or thinks he needs more help.

Marshay, your dad is being selfish and a big baby. Your mom should want to be with you and kids incl. newborn for at least a week. Tell mom to woman up......make some meals in advance for dad....or tell him to eat out....tell him to come for 3 days then go home, tell him mom will be home 4 days later !!!!

It might happen to me, I dont know.......DW is away right now for the weekend with girls, shopping & casino.....Yep, I miss her...she is my best friend, my girlfriend and my wife.......But I will survive.....she is having fun, I go on my mancave with the guy weekends too......but we always look forward to seeing eachother........then after a week we go back to wanting to choke eachother out !!!!!! I agree with your assessment of my dad -- big baby!! But I guess there is more to it than what I know. At this point, I'll just let mom decide whatever she is comfortable with and be grateful (and try not to begrudge them).

You're not being a brat. Sometimes I don't know what I'd do without having my mom around. My husband was not much of a help at all with any of the surgeries I had. If it hadn't have been for my mom, I don't know what I would have done. I know you're not in that same spot, but everybody needs help for different reasons. I don't think you're asking too much.

And oh, yeah, I didn't make it to bed. My son decided he wanted to go to my SIL's house to play poker.

Good on the birth of the sibling! I just registered DD for a hospital class called "Sibling Tiny Tots". It's for siblings ages 2-5 years old and includes a tour of the hospital for parents and child, instruction on how to hold baby, what a newborn looks and sounds like, etc and some other surprises for DD.

FYI, all attorneys like to settle things out of court, judges like that too!!! No body really likes to have trial for civil stuff......criminal stuff is much more fun. Most attorneys try to negotiate outside the courtroom on a figure all parties can agree on....then they take their cut and go to the countryclub for lunch with eachother and laugh about everyone they just screwed !!!!! SERIOUS...Dont be intimidated or impressed with attorneys......BELIEVE ME
Its all just negotiating.......Nobody really wants to hear your case, just get it settled.

This is good to know! I'm really hoping we don't get a court-loving attorney.

Do you have personal experience with this? Just wondering since it sounds like you've done this before...

I love action-adventure films...just not any of those guys...I stick to Will Smith (although he's getting more drama ones nowadays), Brendon Fraser (just easy on the eyes) and love any of the Harrison Ford movies. Oh and The Rock!

Buy him extra underwear and socks, so he will not need to do any wash
