thanks! Mike actually called me a little bit ago and said we have an appointment with a lawyer tomorrow at 1:30. He's the one who handled my accident a couple years ago (when I hurt my back) when the lady had originally given me false insurance, etc.
He said we DEFINITELY have a case. He couldn't BELIEVE what this guy had done.

I'm gonna take a late lunch to go, so hopefully it won't run over an hour.

Well, headed to the dentist now. Hopefully that will go well.

Oh by the way, it's starting to POUR now. Mike said there is already some drops of water that came in the house!! But he managed to get back up there and finish covering it with my cousin's DH (he came home early from work for us!) If there's no heavy wind we should be okay. Please pray!

Glad you already got an appointment with an attourney. Let me know how that goes. I still can't believe that contractor. That guy really must have just escaped from a mental institution like you said.

OMG are you kidding me? I didn't realize how close you were! We had such fun there, other than me having this cough! Bryan loves the knife works, he watches the live show from there on late evening Tv, how exciting huh, lol? That would have been so great for you to meet us there. We spent three days in Pigeon Forge in a campground there. I'd have called you had I realized you could have come visit! Well whenever we pass through that area we normally take a few days there so next time I will definitely call you.

The Disney OUtlet is in the Tangier Outlets, not the Belz Outlets. There's a big billboard on the main drag there, I forget what Highway it is, but its the same road the Knifeworks are on and you'll see the sign a ways up the road. When you go in there you don't see it as we thought maybe it had closed but it was way in the back!! The double beach towel we got was awesome, so colorful and huge! I just remembered the tee shirts were cheap too and they had a ton so Bryan got me a Tinker Bell out, really colorful.

It's okay. Yeah, just let me know next time you are in that area and we will come visit you. Maybe we can meet at the Belz outlets or something like that. I've been to the Tangier outlets....wonder why I missed the Disney outlet. I will for sure look for it next time.

So here’s the story:

Yesterday we got a roofing quote from a contractor. His quote was too high, I believe Mike(DH) told him we’d get back to him. When really, we didn’t want him to do the job. Anyway, all he did was a quote.

Then this morning…I got a call from Mike…he said he woke up to banging noises on the roof. He went outside to find 5 guys on the roof ripping off shingles!!!! And a quote taped to the door facing the inside. He yelled at them to come down. (I get a little fuzzy here…not sure if the contractor was there at the time or showed up later) They took their sweet time getting off the roof. A fourth of our roof was already ripped off by that point. Thank GOD Mike was home!!
They finally all came down and DH told them to go. The contractor refused to leave!! DH got really bad and told him off, and said get off my property. The guy STILL refused to go! Can you believe this??
Mike called the cops and they came and took him off our property. This guy has done a couple other roofing jobs in our area, so we assumed he was alright. But now I’m thinking he must have just gotten out of a mental institution!!
It’s looking like rain, so Mike went and bought some tarps ($300 worth!!) and is trying to get them on the roof himself. He’s having a hard time so hopefully the rain will hold off til my cousin’s husband gets home from work (around 4) to help him.
He called 2 lawyers and both of them said we have a case if we’d like to pursue it…

I’m thinking the answer is YES. We’re already in for $300…and I’m PRAYING we don’t get any damage from this. Mike also couldn’t go into work today (Was supposed to be there from 10 to 5) because he was taking care of the roof. So that’s more money lost right there. What a WEEK this is turning out to be!

Just my luck, the dentist will say I have a cavity this afternoon…(I’ve never had one in my life)

So do y’all think we should take to legal matters with this??

:hug:Oh my gosh. I am just proud of Mike for not kicking his rear end, I am not proud to say it but I may have hit the guy myself. I say go for it.

and       :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:    for everyone who needs them!!! I have no advice to give4 but i do have  for everyone.. i was reading and didnt pick up names of who all needed them.. sowwie! i know UJ... and the roof..and the new girl (sorry guys!)

Jason was totally distracting me while I was reading going "mamamamamamamama" so my brain erased names!

Yup!! Dixie Landings!! I've always wanted to go to Disney in any other month besides July or August - but with school and work I've never been able to.. so in 98, I was there during the summer - but I'm hoping my mom and I can do a Christmas trip soon :santa: It just looks amazing there in Dec.

We used to do summer when we were younger, so know how you feel

Have not beeen there on Christams since 98..so pretty excited :goodvibes

Both Sharky and I are going in December to WDW this year so you can live vicariously through us :goodvibes

I have a ptr started already

Yeppers :santa:

Thanks girl

no, not yet. Luckily Mike managed to pop the bumper back on last night...you can tell there is damage on the left side of it, but at least it's drivable for now!

oh glad..he was able to do that and save you some cash:goodvibes

6500!!!

:::cheer2::cool1:

You go girl :woohoo:

OhMYGosh, his party was AWESOME!!!

There was a huge spacewalk (or some may call it a bouncer or something???) and there were only 3 kids since it was a family party. She rented the thing because Nathan wanted it so badly. The only reason she didn't invite more kids and do an all-out party was because they went to WDW a couple weeks ago.

Also she set up a slip-n-slide and bought water balloons. Can you see where this is going?...

There were hoses being sprayed, water balloons being thrown, buckets of ice water being dumped, I mean it was an all out all day water fight. :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

Luckily I changed into my swimsuit early on, before they came back with more water balloons. (She had a little pack to start with, and everyone found it so much fun that her 2 brother in laws went to Walmart to buy 1000 of them!!!)

When we were still in our clothes, Christina had gotten bombed with water balloons so she just said 'screw it' and jumped in the slip-n-slide and got SOAKED. Then she came to me and gave me a BIG ole hug!

Then when we were playing pin the tail on the donkey (yes, she made adults play) and Christina was blindfolded, they dumped a huge bucket of ice water on her. It was HILARIOUS! She had her swimsuit on by then, but said the water was VERY VERY cold!

I'm so SORE from running around and jumping/sliding in that big spacewalk thing. It had a slide, a basketball goal, punching bags,...the works!
Nathan kept fighting me and I have 4 bruises on my legs from him. LOL

Also we had bbq. mmmm

We all had a blast!

That party sounds like so much fun

wet, but a lot of fun:laughing:

Hi MOm

That was a lot of fun tnite with a lot of here again :woohoo:

Hey everyone!!! Jason said mama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dancer:

Congrats steph..that is awesome :yay:

Thanks to all who gave advice....I really really really apprecitated it........choked me up.......UJ was flubbering.......the whole thing tears me up......

I think I might go and ask my daughter for the keys to her car and leave a big poster board with our familly photos on it and write her a letter and let her know she really hurt me but that I still love her sooooo much......

UJ

Cherbear,
I have a contractors license in Mi. The builder should be insured if he is legit......Sue him for damages to the roof and tell the courts you want someone else to repair the roof he ruined.....and then negotiate with that builder on the rest of the job....the new builder will surely way overbid the repair job and should give you some savings on the remainder.......Thet courts will probablly require you to get 3 bids on the repair........but DO NOT let that clown on your roof again.....EVER!!
UJ
I hope you didnt sign anything during the estimate process!!!

UJ, Be sure and tell her how proud you are of her. And what a beautiful young woman she has grown into. Those words will go a long way towards making her see how much you love her, and how much she means to you.

aww..so we glad we could help

I think that sounds like perfect thing to do

For future reference, never be nervous about venting here. Everyone here is so caring and always ready to give advice or just a shoulder to cry on when needed. It's really just a great bunch and I'm glad that just from reading some of the pages here you felt comfortable coming to our thread with this.

I'm so sorry for all of the struggles in your life right now. It especially touched home with me when you said your Dad is sturggeling with cancer right now. My Mom had breast cancer 4 years ago and that too was the hardest thing to watch her go through. I hope your Dad gets better and things improve there. Also, don't put off talking with your Mom about the things that are bothering you right now. It might actually be a welcome to her to talk about something other than the stress that she's dealing with right now and it might make her feel good to help you out some. I know if it was me I would welcome the relief from my every day stress if I was dealing with my DH having cancer. But that's just me.

As for Bridezilla.....I agree with everyone else when they say that this warrents talking in person. I have found that emails back and forth tend to do more harm than good. Maybe go out, have a few drinks to relax you both and then lay it all out on the table about what all you are going through right now. I'm sure she would understand. Tell her you don't think this wedding is worth losing your friendship over. I have lost friends over sillier things than a wedding and it still hurts to this day and like you I only have one BFF (well, other than my DH of course). There's others that are "friends"....they come around when it's convenient for them....but no one is like that one BFF. I really hope you two can work things out and just laugh it off. Right now you need a friend in your life more than anything else that gets you so I really hope she can get over her wedding crap and be there for you like you have been there for her in planning her Bachelorette party and all.

Oh and Like another said....don't rule out your BF being able to help you too. Just because wedding stuff isn't his thing doesn't mean he wouldn't like to be a sounding wall. You never know, he might surprise you. Or maybe he can just help get things off our mind and focus on other things.

I know most of the stuff I have said is basically the same as everyone else but I hope we all have helped put you at ease a bit and I really hope all of these situations get better for you.:hug: Please let us know how it all turns out.

Thank you so much!! Just hearing it helps :grouphug:

I hope your BF has a great first time at WDW...I remember my DH's first time...he told me not to be surprised if he stopped and went back to the room in the middle of the day (we were with my parents & sister) and to just let him go. But he NEVER STOPPED! He loved it! Then we went back the next 2 years in a row. :rotfl:

Oh btw I am Cheri, 26 also. (27 in 2 weeks though...:scared1) I live in southeast Louisiana, married with no kids yet. I have 2 furbabies though! One reallllly big one, and one very small one. :goodvibes

Very nice to meet you Cheri!!

Any news yet on what the lawyer said? And do you have a cavity??

UJ, how are you doing? Did you make your poster yet? or are you too busy watching the Detroit game?? 2 mins left - gettin crazyyyyyy

Hi Disneybunny, I am Michele. I am on the west coast. Sorry I didn't comment earlier but I figured that my friends gave good advice I couldn't add too. Welcome to the thread.:flower3:

Wow, I've missed a lot.

UJ, I'm hurting for you. I'm sure you know that I have a 16 year old son. It's kind of the same situation with him wanting to stay with the *%^#@ because of the lack of rules. I think it is something all teens go through. I know I liked going to his house when I was a teenager...no rules and no consequences.

And the ex does the same thing with using my son to hurt me. It works. He knows that he can't beat the hell out of me anymore, so he uses my son. And that hurts worse.

I read Mommom's reply to you and I agree with everything she said. I don't really have time to type out a whole reply to you right now, but I totally agree with her.

If you ever need to talk, I'm here for you. Not sure if you have my number, but your SIL does. Call me, text me (wait, can you do that?;)), whatever. I know how hard it is to have a child that you love so much and all they seem to want to do is make your life hell.:hug::hug::hug: for you.

And how about that hockey game?:)

Cheri, I can't believe everything you're going through. Jeez, when are you gonna give us some good news? Hope things get better soon.

DisneyBunny - Hi, I'm Nikki. I guess I missed the boat on giving you advice, but I agree with what the others said. Hope you can work things out with Anna. I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with someone with cancer, too. Seems to be too much of that going on around here lately. Hope you stick around. These girls and guys are great friends to have and really help out when you're feeling down.

Steph - Did he really say that? He's not even 5 months old yet! Wow. I can't remember how old mine were when they first said that, but I had an early walker (Shane was 7 months and toddling around - we knew he'd be our athlete) and an early pottier (Kyleigh was potty trained at 11 months - as soon as she started walking, she was ripping her diaper off and going). That's great that he's learned that already.

Nic - Sorry the hubby's gone. I know you must miss him.:hug:

Hi to everyone else. Sorry, I've been really busy lately.

Where's Betsy? And can somebody please have some good news?

As long as free counseling is being offered, here is my problem:

I agree w/others ... go to party, make nice and leave early.

Another good idea instead og posterboard is to go on-line and make a photobook. It's not as cumbersome as p-board and they look really good. You would have to convert your non-digital ones or take a clear pic of it.

snapfish, shutterfly, cvs, etc

Marsha is on....she just posted on my PTR:thumbsup2

Sorry, I never made it to this thread...

That sounds nice Marshay, good girl being the bigger person and doing Father's Day!!! I'm proud of you!

Will be waiting to see the picture!

well you guys are a good influence for me:thumbsup2 I really didn't want to come on here and say I retaliated...

Hey everyone!!! Jason said mama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dancer:
