Your name is familiar. I am not by Disneyland I am up by San Francisco. I wish we lived closer to Disneyland.

I am Michele. I am a mostly happily married Mom of two teenage girls and one oh so close to teenage son.
I remember we went to San Francisco when I was younger and we all kept begging our parents to take us to Disneyland. :lmao: Our logic was that if we were in California, Disneyland must be nearby!
Do you like the hot weather? I can't stand it. Which is why I go to Orlando for the summer. Yep...doesn't make much sense!!

IT is all coming back to me now. That is so fun you get to work at Disney for the summer.

Can't wait to hear all about it..Make sure you bring us back some good stories

What grade do you teach?
Oh, I'm sure since you've worked at Disney you know there's never a dull moment when guests are around!!

I teach second and third grade. All of 'em together. It's a public Montessori school.

And thanks for answering my question about the vacation! :thumbsup2

WOW...28 kids..that is a big class. My son is in Pre-K and he ha 18 kids in his class.

So, which princess is your sister "friends" with ? ;)
Our maximum class size is 24. At one point I had 32. When they put us over max class size we get an assistant. I teach in the absolute poorest area of Louisville. I have really rough kids. They've seen and been through more in their little 8 year old lives than most of us hopefully ever will. :sad2: Some days I want to pull my hair out, but it's also very rewarding.

My sister is very good friends with Ariel and Anastasia. ;)

I want pot roast now. We haven't had any for a while. Maybe I will get one to cook.

It's a hot one here today. We are pushing 100 and tomorrow it will be over 100. Aren't we lucky? I know Nikki will think we are.

 sorry for giving you the craving. It was awfully yummy :thumbsup2

oh man sounds like a scorcher for sure! :scared:

Stephanie just sent me this picture of Jason taking his first swim.

Yeah people don't realize how big California is. I don't mind it all that much during the day but I really don't like it at night when it is time to go to bed.

Did you cook the pot roast? I am thinking I need some onions, garlic, rosemary and bay leaves and I am so ready to make a pot roast. Well and maybe a pot roast would help too.

Hey, Michelle, PJ and Carla (and anyone else on...)

Great photo of Jason's first swim!

Yeah I did. All I do is brown the meat, put salt and pepper on it, stick it into my crock pot with 3/4 cup of water, 1 tbs of Worcestershire sauce and a bouillon cube and let it cook on low for 10 - 12 hours. It's gooooddddd. I don't put any of that other stuff in there.

Also great picture of Jason's first swim. Did he like it?

Hey Marshay!

Kody and I were screaming for Rachel during the race.:hippie:

Now that's too funny!! My DH was laughing at me...b/c I was yelling, too. I went right up to the tv to show DD3 what was going on...I told her to yell, "Go Rachel! Go, go, go...c'mon, you can do it" etc...she just looked at me like I was a bit weird.

Oh, well...I never watched a race before and this was fun.

Bonjour from Canada:rolleyes:

Welcome!

Welcome!

My Dad was a great one for yelling at the TV during sporting events. I learned well.:rotfl:

Hi, Carla!

I'm in Jeffersonville, Indiana. It's just West of Louisville, Kentucky. I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. The elementary school I teach at is actually in Louisville. It's just a short trip across the bridge away!! Being so close to Louisville, I am all derby-ed out!

My sister works at MK a lot! Where does your daughter work at MK? My sister is in entertainment. She does parades, meet and greets, and 1900 Park Fare dinner.

I am blessed to have a teacher's assistant...believe me, we really appreciate you guys! I have 28 little buggers this year, and I absolutely couldn't do it without my assistant!

kaoden...have we met? I think we have. Where's Fairfield, CA? Close to Disneyland? :yay: I recently returned from my first trip to Disneyland. :)

Since I'll be gone all day tomorrow I'm trying to get all my planning for next week done right now. Wow, what a wild Saturday night I'm having! :rotfl:

Hey PJ.. I remember you from way back when!

That explains the pretty color of the water then.

I found this thread on Moms and 2nd Child and thought I'd share with you (for whatever it's worth)

It really does explain a lot of what I've been going through these past 2 months...and my older daughter, too. I'm guess I'm glad to get some sort of validation for my "guilt" over not having time for DD3 and resenting DD#2 at times.

Anyway, thank you my friends for helping to keep me sane these last 2 months...

------

As I hold your 2-year-old hand,
basking in the glow of our magical relationship,
I suddenly feel a kick from within,
as if to remind me that our time alone is limited.
And I wonder:
How could I ever love another child as I love you?

Then he is born, and I watch you.
I watch the pain you feel at having to share me,
as you've never shared me before.
I hear you telling me in your own way,
"Please love only me."
And I hear myself telling you in mine,
"I can't," knowing, in fact, that I never can again.
You cry. I cry with you.
I almost see our new baby as an intruder
on the precious relationship we once shared.
A relationship we can never quite have again.
But then, barely noticing,
I find myself attached to that new being,
and feeling almost guilty.
I'm afraid to let you see me enjoying him.
-- as though I am betraying you.
But then I notice your resentment change,
first to curiosity, then to protectiveness,
finally to genuine affection.
More days pass, and we are settling into a new
routine.

The memory of days with just the two of us is fading
fast.
But something else is replacing
those wonderful times we shared, just we two.
There are new times -- only now, we are three.
I watch the love between you grow,
the way you look at each other,
touch each other.
I watch how he adores you -- as I have for so long.
I see how excited you are by each of his new accomplishments.
And I begin to realize that I haven't taken something from you,
I've given something to you.
I notice that I am no longer afraid to share my love openly with both of you.
I find that my love for each of you is as different as you are, but equally strong.

And my question is finally answered,
to my amazement..
Yes, I can love another child as much as I love you--
only differently.
And although I realize that you may have to share my time,
I now know you'll never share my love.
There's enough of that for both of you
-- you each have your own supply.
I love you -- both
and I thank you both for blessing my life.
