Wow, everyone has really been chatty. I am in a campground in TN on our way back to LA and it has free wireless, the signal is not very strong but at least I can get online. I am waiting to hear about the one Carla bought to see ifr it will be something I may want to get since the price is so reasonable. I just know I need to get a new computer as I used to be able to keep facebook open and on another table have the DIS open and keep up on both. Now I am so far behind on the DIS I think you all may forget about me.

I have been really sick, I have bronchitis and the deep dry cough is just killing me. My sides, chest and back hurt so bad from coughing so hard. I don't ever remember having it this bad. I started getting sick the first day I got to NJ. That was just wrong.

We had a nice visit, I loved being with the kids and Trent, got to see some of my family before I got sick and had a DIS meet in PA and another one in NJ. It was just awesome. I have pics to post but will see if this computer will let me do it. If not will do it once I get home to LA and I can use Bryan's new one to open photobucket and DIS. For those of you on Facebook, I have them on my photo page. Bryan uploaded them to his computer and put them on his page and then I stole them from there.

Yes I will let you know how the Acer works out for me. I hope you are able to get one if it turns out to be good or I hope you are able to fix Bryan's old computer. If it were me I'd just scrap both computers and buy the Acer. But I know you are on a tight budget right now. I'll have to check FB for those pictures.

I'm sorry you are so sick and got sick so soon after you got to NJ. That's just not fair! I hope you feel better really soon. We miss having you around here but we would NEVER forget about you!!

yes, Carla is right...we could NEVER forget about you!!

just like y'all never forgot about ME!! :grouphug:

Freecycle?

Freecycle is an on-line group of people in a local area that have "stuff" they want to give to others for free, instead of throwing away. The idea is to try to eliminate your 'junk' from going into the landfill b/c it may be someone else's treasure.

It is free to join and I highly recommend it. I get most of my DD's clothes, toys and books from there and I have literally saved thousands of dollars in the 3 years I have joined.

You can also use the group to get rid of junk you don't want. When I had back problems and couldn't use our coil mattress anymore I didn't want to pay our trash people to take it away. It was still a good mattress...it just wasn't working for me (my DH thought it was fine). So I sent an email out to my local Freecycle group asking if anyone wanted it. I got about 6 responses and chose the one that I liked best. They came to my house, took the mattress and now are using it themselves.

Go to "www [dot] freecycle [dot] org" to sign up in your area if you are interested.

It's for anything and everything ... I've seen furniture, TVs, Bikes, books, baby clothes, Leap Pads, computers, etc.

It's great to give away the stuff that you don't want anymore and also to get stuff -- esp clothes for our kids and toys!

that is SO totally cool! I had a feeling it would be something like that although I had suspected it may be just for kids toys. That's just really neat. Thank you for telling us about it. :thumbsup2

Marshay, everyone is much nicer than I am, I would probably say forget it like he forgot Mother's Day, but it seems everyone else thinks you need to be the better person and make the effort to set a good example for him. I wouldn't go too overboard though, lol.

Oh, I'm sooooo sorry to hear you are still sick. Please take care. We don't want any broken ribs from coughing so much.

Yeah, I will be nice to my DH and give him something for Dday on Dday. AND I'll get DD3 to make something nice for him, too!

It's definitely not just for kids, but that's how I mostly use it...although I've gotten some Disney stuff too (even saw the AAA Special Parking Pass on it!)

The only downside I've found is that you get lots of email messages. So I just created a special inbox where they all go and I delete w/o reading all the ones where the title doesn't interest me.

I just picked up 15 pieces of Size 6 clothes for my DD today. All but 2 were in great shape...figure that alone saved me $100 today...

oh, I just joined a group (had to join via yahoo group--is that how they all are?) and I had the option of clicking "web" so that I wouldn't get individual emails or even a daily digest. I hope that works. I actually don't use my yahoo mail much anyway.

that's great! You should start posting pics of your freecycle finds. :goodvibes You KNOW we love pictures. ;)

that's great. I was looking at your signature and can't believe he's already over 4 months old!

I can't see the pic (as usual) since I'm at work. I bet it's cute though
