Oh I hope you have off, you probably do, most people have off except for me of course. I am taking it though so will lose 8 hours pay but I am not working a holiday.

Hey I need all ya'lls opinion. I started this job 3 weeks ago, I'm not so fond of it, the pay is very low and the mileage too and from is 32 each way so I'm using a lot of gas for a little money for a job I don't care for. I saw a job in the paper I'd like and I feel guilty for quiting if i get a new job which is closer and pays more. The people here are really nice and very good to me otherwise. However, I am still up ini the air what I am doing as if I a moving with Bryan to MS, if I am staying here and he's going to MS and I hate to start another new job and end up having to quit in August if I do go with him. You see the job I saw that I liked was at my old place and I loved it there. I became friends with the boss and a lot of the other workers so am not sure it would be fair to lie to them that oh yea I am staying here and then not. What do you think?

I don't think it would be fair to everyone else out there that's looking for a job if you got the other job and then didn't stay there. IMHO don't go and lie to the other job just because you are unhappy at this job. I wouldn't go for the other job (especially if I was friends with the boss) and take advantage of them to only wind up leaving in August. If you are staying in LA then go for it. If you are unsure then I'd say stay where you are. I'm sorry you are not liking your new job and that it's so far but at least you have a job. There are SO many out there that don't know where their next pay check is going to come from (if they even get one at all) i.e. my BFF Becca. She is STILL w/o work.

Thanks Carla, Apparently they only give 5 holidays and supposedly before I started the other employees took a vote as to what holidays they wanted. I don't know what they are, but I would have thought New Year's, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are the basics and that's 6 so they must have voted out the 4th. I don't know how you can do that since it's a federal holiday, but Thanksgiving and Christmas are not, so maybe they thought instead of losing them, they'd opt to lose the 4th. I think it sucks personally.

huh that's so weird and unfortunate. I don't get many holidays either but my Dad sets the ones he does give. This is a dictatorship not a democracy

OH...MY...GOSH. You killed a mommy! I HATE those! They carry their newborns on their back. Only, unlike us, they have HUNDREDS at a time and they carry them ALL. I've had that happen to me, and so has Mike, in our HOUSE at that!

That's happened to Chris before too. He torched a spider (used some flammable spray....I think bug spray) and her babies went EVERYWHERE. He freaked and started torching their little butts. It was so weird. We had never seen anything like that before.

Life is hectic - getting ready to leave for Florida on Sunday WOO HOO!!! Will be gone for six weeks The computer is in a different room from where I have been hanging so I am not on it all the time.....Pulling stuff together that we are going to take down to the house including our Christmas tree (we have two), the cat, and anything else that isn't nailed down

The high tomorrow in Chicago is (are you ready) 65 degree!!!!! On July 1st......I can't handle this....hoping for 78 by the 4th.

I keep telling DH I would like to get something smaller, or a motor home that I can drive. He just looks at me like I am crazy.

today is my "Friday"...4 day weekend coming up...

I forgot to answer QM yesterday…when the baby spiders started running everywhere (which was the #1 freakiest thing I’ve ever seen in person), I had to start hitting them with the broom to kill them. I just had to do it as FAST as I could to keep them from running too far. After I killed the majority, I went around the room trying to sweep in the ones that “got away” and kill them too. It was horridly disgusting.

Okay I know how gross it was at the time but if you read that statement as a person removed from the situation and picture you beating those spiders with a broom as fast as you can, the mental image is quite humerus Don't kill me!

So we are seeing the lawyer again tomorrow about the contractor. He never responded to the letter our lawyer sent him, so now we have to file a lawsuit. I'm SO not happy about this, but there's nothing else we can do if we want him to pay for what he did. And he certainly deserves to pay!

Also, if you remember what I said yesterday, the nurse at the dr's office had said she'd leave the orders for a urine sample(Quest lab) at the front of the building (This is a huge clinic with a receptionist's desk in the very front, and different dr's offices each with their own waiting rooms, etc. in the back.)

Well, I went there at lunchtime. I grabbed the paper from the lady at the front desk of the building, and I asked if I’d be able to do the test THERE in the lab. She called the lab for me and the lady at the lab said she wanted to see my paperwork, so I brought it and then she said I could do it there after she verified in her little book. So I did it and now just waiting game. She said I should call the dr. in a few hours if I don’t hear from them first.

Iunderstand what you are saying Carla and I agree with almost all of it, which is why I was so torn. I didn't want to screw my friends by taking a job and saying I'm staying here and then leaving in two months. The next thing is that I feel like I owe it to these people as they are spending their time training me and I should stay. I don't care for the job itself but I can live with that but the distance I travel to the job, the amount I am now paying for gas is making it not very lucrative for me to work here. That is the main problem. As far as all those out there looking, I know, I was one of them but I also know that as many of us are looking, someone moving from one job to another would still leave an opening somewhere for them. I would not try to juggle two jobs keeping one that someone else needs but I do think as long as you are leaving one job and going to another, there is still that same number of job openings out there for others. There were some awesome ones I would love but there were so many of us looking that it's impossible for them to hire everyone who applies so you have to move on and keep trying, which I did. By the way, the one I was thinking about going for, the girl who has the job decided to keep it so all the resumes they've received is now shredding and all the hopefuls are going to be disappointed. For me now, it is a moot point anyway. Oh well. I'll keep plugging away here and maybe they'll give me some real work to do eventually!!! fingers crossed lol!

So we are seeing the lawyer again tomorrow about the contractor. He never responded to the letter our lawyer sent him, so now we have to file a lawsuit. I'm SO not happy about this, but there's nothing else we can do if we want him to pay for what he did. And he certainly deserves to pay!
