For Kerry Supporters Only

PS...send the link to Bush. I hear he is looking for a new song now that the writer of " Still The One " has reminded them that they actually need permission to use someone's song:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This thread is unbelievably fast! So, here is my 2 cents for today.

If Kerry sits on the far left bank of the party, where do I sit?

Gay marriage? Hope I am invited and I WILL bring a gift
Abortion? Keep your filthy LAWS off my frilly drawers
War? Um, nope, I am a pacifist
Evildoers? That would be me and my other capitilist friends
taxes? BRING IT ON (I am prepared to share)

did I miss anything? If he sits on the far left bank I must be clinging to the left edge of the world.

I heard that this morning and thought "what were the Bush people thinking"... then realized they obviously weren't. :) I don't know when the writer complained but apparently the Bush campaign was still using it this morning.

Again, I would expect intolerance on the Bush thread, given the left's perception of conservatives. I never would have expected it here. What a surprise.
Well said, thank you.

I must be clinging somewhere close.

* I have no problem with gay marriage - if two adults choose to make that kind of commitment, why should their genders matter. As far as that goes, if multiple adults consent to a group commitment, I think they should have that option. Just because I would not do something like this does not mean I think I have the right to judge people who do.
* I may not choose to have an abortion but that doesn't mean I think others shouldn't have a choice.
* I don't think anyone should ever want to go to war and should exhaust all peaceful measures first.
* I think anyone who seriously throws around the word "evildoer" seems much too familiar with the term.
* I don't like to pay taxes but realize it is the cost we must all pay to keep the country running and paying a higher part of my income than someone who makes less isn't something that keeps me up at night.

Obviously LisaZoe and and luvsTink are both left wing, radical commie sympathizers! Who would've thought???;)

Holy smokes! It's not safe outside this thread! Anyone checked the thread about Iraqi deaths recently? It's getting ridiculous! It's truly astounding to me that people can so easily justify massive casualities to support their political agenda. It really makes me sad, and makes we wonder how isolated many American populations are to acts of violence and brutality.

Someone mentioned that those on the east coast, closest to the 9/11 attacks are the very ones not reacting to Bush's message of fear. This seems important to me, that those closest to the tragedy are rallying around hopes for the future and optimism. And yet those in the "heartland," farthest from the nations' borders and urban centers are the ones living in fear.

I am really frustrated by the conservatives right now, but I also don't want to put down anyone's feelings of fear. Again, I'm just so sad that it has come down to these vicious debates, and I'm scared that so many will go to lenghts to justifying death and encourage fear. How did it come to this?

I think the term "bleeding heart" is true. It does break my heart when my fellow country men/women are so callous to the pain of the world. I know it got the Dixie Chicks in trouble, but I am going to say it anyway. Sometimes I am embarrassed to be from here.

Oh no, I've been "outed". Why must all Kerry supporters keep pointing out something that seems to be common knowledge? ;)

Rcyannacci - I feel the same about the fear. Obviously it is a very real concern for some people but I just don't understand it. A former co-worker of mine was very concerned about the Anthrax in the mail scare when it happened. I didn't want to make her feel foolish for feeling that way but I did try to point out how miniscule were the chances of her having anything to worry about in Oregon.

I will be happy to address this one. I don't believe anyone has suggested the explosives that were left unguarded might be used here. The problem is that they are available to be used over there in car bombs and such, against Americans over there. Let's be realistic just for once shall we. Not guarding those explosives once we were there, is a colossal error of judgement. They did not guard them because they were short of manpower. And they were short on manpower because they absolutely refused to listen to anyone who said they would need more men. Spin and deny as they will, the administration cannot escape this fact. And that is my most serious problem with this administration. Their absolute inability to ever admit a mistake was made....ever. When Bush was asked by a reporter about any mistake he had made and he was unable to think of one, I found that to be absolutely terrifying. Others admire him for his certainty. I want someone who will question his own judgement occasionally. To refuse to do so is to believe one is infallible. And that is just way too close to a god complex for my comfort zone. And I shudder to think what these people will do if they have another four years with no re-election to work towards.
I've just been catching up from this morning, but I have to say that this post was so true and to the point. Well done, my sentiments exactly.

I have been undecided as to whether to vote for George Bush or to write in a vote for Colin Powell. As I have read the venom, nastiness, coodependant, and hatred as a part of this thread, and read the personal attacks, ridiculing and abusiveness toward posters, these have pushed me over to supporting George Bush. The types of ugliness and expressed by Bush haters, and the mentality of personally attacking comments toward others expressing an opposing view and the politics of personal destruction do not deserve to win this election. From what I've read in this thread, Democrats do not deserve to win the election to have their nasty approach reinforced.

The democrat party needs to take a serious look at itself and reinvent itself and its stances away from the platform of hate and the politics of personal destruction.

Just my constitutionally protected opinion.

Desperado, I have seen you attack us on the Bush supporters thread. So you aren't one to be high and mighty.

Someone just made a very interesting observation about the election. Most of the people who are voting for Bush because they believe he will protect them from further terrorist attacks live in areas that have little likelihood of being attacked. Whereas the Kerry supporters live in the big cities and the populated east coast states that are prime targets.

As someone who lives in an area with a big bullseye on it and we have already been attacked, yes, this bothers me to no end. My co-workers who had to run down the street as the tower fell, they are voting for Kerry.

So, Tuesday is really going to be a nightmare for me. Besides watching the election results coming in which will be equivalent of watching your favorite team during OT in a big game, we will be finding out at work whether or not we will still have jobs. They are cutting my department in half. Why can't they wait until next Friday?

I think election day should be a national holiday.
