I went out into the main page to look for the word game threads. And I saw all the anti Kerry threads.
That will teach you not go to the "dark side". Just follow the light (and the smell of brownies) and you'll be fine.

Isn't it amazing how it seems to be a very small number of users who start most of the Kerry bashing political threads? Many are becoming more and more paranoid in tone as well.

it was absolutely excellent, but will make you angry about the way the war was waged. So many pig headed mistakes. Sometimes I have to wonder if the people who defend these mistakes realize that people have DIED because of them. Someone's son/daughter/spouse DIED ! And yes, mistakes are made, even ones that lead to deaths. But has anyone heard any admission of any mistake or any regret? Anywhere?

This is the part I can't get past either. I'd be o.k. if someone, anyone from the Bush administration stepped up to the plate and said mistakes were made. My biggest problem with Bush is the lying to gain political support for a war that wouldn't have been supported if the truth were told. Those absolute phrases that were used "There can be no doubt ... We know for a fact ... It is certain"......the fact that they did NOT know for a fact and then refuse to own up to these outright lies.....I just don't get how any American can trust this administration after all of this.

This is exactly how I feel too. I agree totally with you and FIK.
I want to know if during Viet Nam, was the commentary coming out about how positive the war was while it was going on? Is it only years later that the truth comes out? You know how they critique an administration years later in a more realistic way!
I bet that ten, or twenty years from now all we are going to hear about is how big of a mistake it was to go to war with Iraq. Mark my words!![]()
It just kills me that this administration plays upon the emotions and patriotic spirit of our nation to whitewash the mistakes that have been made. They really have people brainwashed that the war in Iraq was justified by 9/11 - ?? And that if you don't support the President's decisions you aren't supporting the troops in Iraq. Wrong! I support our troops - they are doing their duty and what they were told to do. I wish them the best of course. That doesn't mean I have to agree with why they are there. And truth be told a lot of them don't agree with the President either. We have a friend who is a B-52 pilot who is stationed at the base IN Baghdad. When he needs to use the bathroom at night he has to put on a helmet, bullet proof vest, and carry a weapon because the latrine (sp.) could be hit by snipers. His wife told him not to drink anything after 7 p.m. anymore.

Yup, it goes back to that old "you're either with us or against us" attitude that is so prevalent in America today.
Today on the thread denise started about Cheney someone asked her if she had anger issues. I had to physically get up and walk away from the computer because I wanted to respond and let that person know that while I couldn't speak for Denise, I could certainly say that I have anger issues. 1000+ American soldiers and countless Iraqi citizens dead in a war based on lies can make a person angry. So yes, I'm *&^&*(* angry.
But I thought better of it and decided to vent here instead.
