For Kerry Supporters Only

I went out into the main page to look for the word game threads. And I saw all the anti Kerry threads.

That will teach you not go to the "dark side". Just follow the light (and the smell of brownies) and you'll be fine.

That monster slash was hilarious. Especially cheney in the hockey mask

Lisa Zoe, I think that it is just some of the regulars using their alter egos. It appears that they are allowed to use more than one persona on here. Oh well it seems a little strange that all of these old names just suddenly showed up to bash Kerry.

I'm glad that we have you on our thread!:sunny:

anyone who missed seeing Frontline last night on PBS can see it here starting tomorrow

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/pentagon/

it was absolutely excellent, but will make you angry about the way the war was waged. So many pig headed mistakes. Sometimes I have to wonder if the people who defend these mistakes realize that people have DIED because of them. Someone's son/daughter/spouse DIED ! And yes, mistakes are made, even ones that lead to deaths. But has anyone heard any admission of any mistake or any regret? Anywhere?

edited to add....Denise, that site is a hoot...I particularly enjoyed the expose of Jack and Emma Claire

FIK, I hear ya.
I am just so puzzled. The right always wondered why the left would defend Clinton in re: to a bj, but I sure can't understand how they can defend this administration. Especially as more and more news comes ouot every day about what a mess we are in over there.

I will set my TiVo for the Frontline re-air. And again I would like to remind everyone to watch the Frontline election special on Monday night.

Good morning from the mostly-sunny Golden State, all you true believers, defenders of democracy, lovers of liberty, fighting for freedom and campaigning for civil rights, kings and queens of this great country, supporters of John Kerry, Democrats.

Things are still looking good, folks

The Morning Sedition had the BBC reporter who broke the "caging list" story on their show this morning. Apparently, Republican leadership originally stated that the list was of undeliverable addresses from a fundraising mailer campaign (to poor black Democrats?), then claimed it was a list of people they believe are ineligible to vote because their mail came back undeliverable. Of course, as it turns out, at least some of the names on that list are people whose mail is being returned to sender because their current address is where? Baghdad.

They're soldiers.

Day by day I am more amazed....

This is the part I can't get past either. I'd be o.k. if someone, anyone from the Bush administration stepped up to the plate and said mistakes were made. My biggest problem with Bush is the lying to gain political support for a war that wouldn't have been supported if the truth were told. Those absolute phrases that were used "There can be no doubt ... We know for a fact ... It is certain"......the fact that they did NOT know for a fact and then refuse to own up to these outright lies.....I just don't get how any American can trust this administration after all of this.

This is exactly how I feel too. I agree totally with you and FIK.

I want to know if during Viet Nam, was the commentary coming out about how positive the war was while it was going on? Is it only years later that the truth comes out? You know how they critique an administration years later in a more realistic way!

I bet that ten, or twenty years from now all we are going to hear about is how big of a mistake it was to go to war with Iraq. Mark my words!::yes::

I agree with you and Snoopy too!::yes:: It just kills me that this administration plays upon the emotions and patriotic spirit of our nation to whitewash the mistakes that have been made. They really have people brainwashed that the war in Iraq was justified by 9/11 - ?? And that if you don't support the President's decisions you aren't supporting the troops in Iraq. Wrong! I support our troops - they are doing their duty and what they were told to do. I wish them the best of course. That doesn't mean I have to agree with why they are there. And truth be told a lot of them don't agree with the President either. We have a friend who is a B-52 pilot who is stationed at the base IN Baghdad. When he needs to use the bathroom at night he has to put on a helmet, bullet proof vest, and carry a weapon because the latrine (sp.) could be hit by snipers. His wife told him not to drink anything after 7 p.m. anymore.

Yup, it goes back to that old "you're either with us or against us" attitude that is so prevalent in America today. :(

Today on the thread denise started about Cheney someone asked her if she had anger issues. I had to physically get up and walk away from the computer because I wanted to respond and let that person know that while I couldn't speak for Denise, I could certainly say that I have anger issues. 1000+ American soldiers and countless Iraqi citizens dead in a war based on lies can make a person angry. So yes, I'm *&^&*(* angry. :(

But I thought better of it and decided to vent here instead.

Sorry guys...and snoopy.
I had to go take a shower after posting like "some republicans and or Bush supporters". Ick.
Ok, it was just a little fun.

You owe me no apology, Denise. I'm sure as a Kerry supporter you feel the same way as I do. I mean, after being lied to, then reading the headlines day after day with more and more of our boys not coming home, a person has three choices: go insane, embrace the fantasy, or get a bit testy. I think you are just among the latter. I know I am.

(and the first person who says they think I may be a bit more of the former gets a cyber bonk on the head. :p )

I'm tired of hearing about taxes: "But it's MYYYYYYY money...it doesn't concern meeeeeeeeeee...me me me...my my my...I I I..." They have no problem with the government spending money to defend this country. They have no problem driving on the roads this government built, etc., etc.

Who the heck is supposed to pay for this stuff?

I know it was posted previously, but I think this warrants being repeated;

A Day In The Life of Joe Republican

Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards.

He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.

All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too because his employer needs to offer competitive benefits to hire the best people.

Joe prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air.

Joe drives to work in one of the safest cars in the world because some liberal fought to raise safety standards and emission controls.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with good pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some Liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

Its noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC up to $100,000 because some liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from greedy, unscrupulous bankers like the ones who ruined the banking system before the depression.

Joe needs to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.

Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electric until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republican's might still be sitting in the dark!)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show, the host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn't tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day)

Joe agrees, "We don't need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have".
