Blech. I'm so sick of this "as long as it doesn't affect me personally" attitude I'm seeing by some people on the DIS boards and people I know in real life. You know, the attitude that says "as long they keep the poor and homeless and gays and Arabs out of my sight, and my job doesn't go off to India, and its not my kid going off to war, then I will be okay".

Grrrrrrrr......

:(

He is trying to slam Kerry of course, but HELLOOOO....... WMDs anyone? Do these people exist in an alternate reality?

Now this is a joke! Someone get this to Kerry asap! lol ::yes::

I have to ask - am I reading a different CB than anyone else? I see people posting how it's the Kerry supporters calling Bush supports idiots and morons and that there's more anti Bush threads than anti Kerry ones.
I must have a reading comprehension issue or something because I see slams on both sides, but an overwhelming majority are Kerry slams.

No, Cranky, you're not in a fog, unless I am too. Its ridiculous to even claim that this is a fair fight, its been lopsided for as long as I can remember here on the DIS.

Who the heck is supposed to pay for this stuff?

Oh my gosh..that is EXACTLY my thought!

With apologies, I am going to totally hijack this thread for a moment. I have major news that I want to share, and I refuse to venture out onto the main page to do so. Besides, everyone I know is on this thread, so why bother? lol

On Nov 23rd at 7:30 AM, assuming all goes as planned, I will be getting a new kidney from my daughter. This comes after almost a year and a half of testing various family members...a real emotional roller coaster ride for all of us. It is difficult to believe it is finally happening.

Again, I apologize for the diversion. I just had to share.

Bichon Barb,

I recall one thread on the DB where some people criticized this area claiming it was not the greatest place to live. I for one, am thrilled to live here. The medical facilities are superb. And don't even get me started on Wegman's and Kaufmann's ! And what's a little snow after all?

Now back to your regular scheduled discussion.

Denise, really no need to apologize. You had enough and wanted them to have a taste of their own medicine. I understand it completely.
I don't think you should have posted it because some people are never going to admit they say anything derragatory or nasty, but that's just my opinion. no need to apologize.

Faithinkarma, my best to you. I'm sending you all the good thoughts I have that your operation is a success and you are returned to good health.

Wes Clark, bless his heart, is already on top of it :

"Today George W. Bush made a very compelling and thoughtful argument for why he should not be reelected. In his own words, he told the American people that “…a political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your Commander in Chief."

“President Bush couldn’t be more right. He jumped to conclusions about any connection between Saddam Hussein and 911. He jumped to conclusions about weapons of mass destruction. He jumped to conclusions about the mission being accomplished. He jumped to conclusions about how we had enough troops on the ground to win the peace. And because he jumped to conclusions, terrorists and insurgents in Iraq may very well have their hands on powerful explosives to attack our troops, we are stuck in Iraq without a plan to win the peace, and Americans are less safe both at home and abroad.”

“By doing all these things, he broke faith with our men and women in uniform. He has let them down. George W. Bush is unfit to be our Commander in Chief.”

Way to go General Clark. I hope the media picks up this quote today - after showing Dubya's, of course.

And FIK, congrats! I'm so very happy about your news. I'll keep your in my thoughts and prayers!:hyper:

Amen, BB. What the hell is the matter with those people? Are these perhaps the same folks who support the war but won't join the armed services or, heaven forbid, allow their children to serve. Wonder how many drive big gas guzzlers too?

FIK I'm so happy for you!!!! Lets celebrate, brownies anyone?

That reminds me . I haven't picked up my "package" yet. I won't have brownies for the trick-or-treaters unless I get cracking
