I am considering applying for our local Disney Outlet. I think it would be a really neat place to work and to finance our upcoming trip to WDW.

I could make slightly more $$ at a different place, so my question is, would the perks of being a CM make up for the lower pay.

Also, if it is allowed, could you describe some of the benifits??

Thanks!
Toni :D

The perks are nice, but it really depends on your financial need for employment. My spouse is a CM and he works mostly for the perks (he's retired); but also because he enjoys the people who buy Disney products and we are big Disney fans. I didn't know they had a Disney Outlet in AK. What type is it? Disney Store, Disney Parks, or Catalog. I know where all of the Catalog stores are, so am curious.

Actually the store is an outlet in Branson, MO. We live about 4 miles south of the state line, so it is about 30 miles.

Thanks for your help!

OK, so it's one of the newest Disney Catalog Outlets. They recently dropped the word "The" from their name. Disney outlets are a great place to work if you like the Disney products. You get some great buys! Good Luck!

I'm wondering if the outlet places get the same perks as tds cm's. probably, but i'm not sure. if SO, you get free park admission for yourself, 4 one day hoppers a year, 20% off your restaurant meals, 20% your first 3 years off merchandise, 35% thereafter, 1/2 price recreation discount, 50% off rooms (subject to availability), 15% off dvc points (i LOVE that one) and ALOT of other perks (free strollers, lockers). If you get a regular disney ID, you would get these perks, i'm sure working at an outlet store. donna

Donna: How long do you have to work at TDS or how many hours to qualify for those %? I've often thought of working at ours since I LOVE to go there!

Donna, yes exactly the same. Actually the Catalog Outlet CMs are part of the Disney Stores and we use the same code in Disney World. The back of the IDs say return to Disney Stores if lost. We do have a few extra catalog perks (like no shipping fees and a higher discount on catalog merchandise, no matter how long you've been with the company). We fax our orders on a special form. We even get the "Scoop" with our paychecks.

I too am interested in knowing about how long you have to work there to get the perks. I am a teacher and this year I am thinking about working summer partime to keep financing our WDW vacations and also to save a downpayment for DVC. :) Please email me with the info if you have time. Thanks!

I would be interested in knowing where the Disney Catalog Outlets are please. Also how long you need to be a CM to qualify for the 15% off DVC points?

Sorry, just had a chance to get back to this board. How long you have to work at TDS depends on your hire status. If you are hired for casual help (part time seasonal), you do not get the park hoppers (4), but would get all the other benefits (except park admission). You have to be on the payroll permanently to get those hoppers and to get park admission. As for your 20% off merchandise (tds and wdw), you would get that immediately. the 35% is after 3 years service (yeh, i get mine this year!). It is always 20% on food though, even after 3 years. If you have a red card (casual ID), you would need to take that plus picture ID and possibly a payroll stub to show you still work there. Some people even take a letter from mgt. showing their hire status. When you are hired permanently, you would receive your regular Disney picture ID (yellow) and that has your hire date which determines your discount. I would say go to your nearest store and ask if they're hiring; i don't think we are right now at my store but i'm sure that varies. Your minimum availability would be 3 shifts a week including weekends. Shifts are usually 4 or 5 hours. Good Luck!
