Do you think CM is too restrictive???? IE Not being able to sell on ebay etc

I don't have a problem with not selling current items on ebay. I think CMCs should be able to get rid of retired or old/revised/discontinued product via ebay or Craigslist (or yard sale, what have you)..

I think the advertising internet policy is far too restrictive.

Yeah it would be nice to be able to sell retired and discontinued stuff on ebay. Also allowing us to at least be able to put ourselves out there on the internet more would be nice. I am on a message board, www.scrapshare.com, where I can trade some of my older stuff for neverouts and what I need for customers.

I used to think it was a great policy because I did not want to compete with ebay. I actually had a woman in my 2nd line that was fined $5000 for selling on ebay and she was automatically deactivated.

Now that we no longer get discounts on shipping - I have minimized my inventory down to never outs except the albums that I have saved for myself. Now that I do mostly digital and want to move to TRUE - I would love to get rid of the old 12 x 12 albums. - ebay would be a great place BUT I have moved quite a few by offering them at cost to my customers.

No, I don't. Often I hear people pay more than retail for items they purchased on ebay.:(

But nobody made them bid on the items they were wanting. I always go looking on there with a price in mind to spend on anything and will not go over that amount. If you wait it out, you can get it!

I don't keep stock anyway - if my ladies want it they order it (but bear in mind I have only 3 customers and one hasn't been for about a year and the other two took 2 years each to comlete one album ) I keep only enough for me - photo splits, pages etc. but I'd like to shift the spare "lessons" as they come in packs of 15 and so I've got 10-12 left of each one :headache:

I used to be a CMC. I think they are way too restrictive on the internet advertising thing. I could be making a mint on all the people that have asked me about SBC+ because of my digital LO's, but I won't sign up as a CMC again because I know I would have to watch everything I shared online for fear it would be construed as advertising. It is a bummer. As it is, I recommend the software to people, but I don't recommend a CMC to them. I don't want to get anyone in trouble. If I could share like I want to AND be a CMC, I would do it again.

I had heard of a woman who was a CMC and she wanted to sell all her old scrapbooking stuff not CM and was told by CM that she couldn't do this. If you want to sell layouts etc on Ebay or anything else why is it against the rules??? Also about that person who was fined how do so many get away with selling things on ebay--after regionals/showcase etc you see all the new stuff but their not CMC's

They are more than likely selling through a ebay store or through a friend. As long as none of your info being a CMC matched your ebay user ID, then you can maybe get by. I heard they can track you by ISP addresses or something like that. Shoot might even have spies out there scoping you out! They are sneaky and to me a waste if you can't even sell non CM scrapping supplies.
