Are they allowing approved fire pits to be used right now?
Hows the water level in the lakes and canals?
We are starting to pack for check-in this Saturday.
There is apparently enough water to rent the canoes at Meadows. My DD spent a lot of time sitting by the water reading, and told me she saw a guy fall out of a canoe into the water.
Actually, I can't remember when they last allowed open fires at FtW. What they do allow are the covered fire pits, though. Something along the lines of this:
You can get these just about anywhere. This particular one is sold thru Bass Pro Shop for about $140.
I would imagine there is no fire ban in place right now, because there has been a lot of rain in the last couple months, plus it hasn't been too hot/dry.
In fact, there is a cold front coming in this week in Orlando, the low tonight is supposed to be near the record of 40 degrees set back in 1968. For all those people that came in for a long Easter week stay, I'm jealous. They are getting low to mid 70's for the first half of the week, and barely at 80 for the st. And clear skies with no rain forecasted.
I have a feeling there are going to be quite a few campfires going on at the Fort tonight
It is supposed to be gorgeous here this week. But I think we are supposed to be under a red flag warning as well for fire danger. That's according to the news last night, but it could change in the day or two. Just keep a look out at orlandosentinel.com or wesh.com, they should keep things up to date for the weather & fire warnings.
