For anyone interested in seeing a gunite pool being built- ahh! crawly/jumpy things!

I can't wait to see a picture of it finished. It looks great! :sunny:

Hello Fellow Mainer !!!! so is that hot pool guy or someone else!! If you would be so kind to invite us over, I would let you use our noodles, tubes and boogie boards.. hee hee.. Looks great.. makes me want one.!! Michelle

Absolutely beautiful! I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it. Thanks for sharing and keep those pics coming.

Mary

We have a gunite pool and love. I have enjoyed your pics! Our pool was here when we moved in. Of course in South Carolina we have a longer season. I would have to have a heater in Maine!

I love your tile, mine is dark blue and my pool is actually dark green. It is really different looking.

I like you swim out area! we have one of those as well, you will LOVE it. The kids love to play there, learn to jump, dive, do flips etc from there. I like to sit there to watch them! It is like a hot tub depth, perfect to keep me cool.

I am anxious for you to get to use it!! :Pinkbounc

Good Luck! Nancy

Wow! That looks great! I like the tile you selected. I didn't read all the replies, just looked at the pictures, but will it be done in time to use this summer?

Oh-I LOVE your screened in porch!!

I am anxious to see the finished product,
Karen

Yes, we're hoping to have it completed by next week, so we'll get three or four weeks to use it. Well, four weeks might be stretching it a bit!

Thanks, we really love the porch, also. For about three months out of the year it's like having another room in the house. We eat most of our meals out there, and the best part- NO bugs! :)

I love the tile! What goes below it? Do they just paint the cement stuff? I'm so jealous -- my rickety old above ground pool just doesn't measure up!

After the backfilling and cement deck is finished around the pool they will put white plaster on the inside of the pool. Then the water must be put in as soon as possible to protect the plaster finish.

I love your Henry he looks alot my kitty Bandit !! Kinda of a Yucky day here in Maine hope they can still get some work done -- Michelle

Did you get a pool heater or an automatic vac?

My husband just called me to say they are doing the steel in our pool today - plumbing is to be done tomorrow!

Gotta love pool companies - haha! Iposted that on 8/11 & our plumbing still isn't finished......should be TOMORROW (yeah, right!)

OK ya'll are scaring me. How long did your pool companies tell you it would take?

We were told 35 days from the day we got our permit. After our price came in a lot higher than we were expecting I am going to hold them to that 35 day time frame come hell or high water!

:::where's my whip?.......

;)

Our contract states 35 BUSINESS days from the day of excavation. So, 7 weeks from excavation. That will put us swimming September 26th (thank god for a heater!). We would like to get a couple of weeks of swimming in, so we might not close the pool this year until mid October.

This is from the pool booklet the company gave us when we signed the contract:

"Normal installation time is 30 workable working days excluding Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and rain days after excavation. Time lags between days when crews are actually working on your site are occasioned by waits for curing, inspections, crew scheduling and like aspects of construction work."

Today is day 35 from the day they started digging, but excluding weekend days, one day of rain, and a few days of waiting for various reasons, it is really only day 22 or 23. Yesterday, our forms were put in for the concrete decking and I'll post those pictures as soon as DD14 wakes up, (she's the one that knows how to do such things, not me!), and today they are pouring the concrete.

They are estimating to be finished with everything by Saturday. If so, then they will actually come in UNDER the 30 working days. :)

We signed our contract last night. :cool1:

We asked about the 35 days. And she said that for them it is 35 CALENDAR days not business days. We will see though.
