Not to break your bubble as I'm sure you know your wife tons better than I do but every nurse I've known including my self likes the littmann ones better. Those scopes are neat though.

I'm going to look in a minute, but I have to second the Littman especially if she is looking to work on a stepdown or critical care unit. DH bought me a fairly high quality one. 3 years later when the soft ear tips were lost and the tubing had cracked from wearing it everything was replaced for free. It makes listening to lung sounds much easier and more acurate.

Maybe she can have both!!

They do look neat but I wouldn't part with my trusty, plain black Littman...although I have a Mickey Mouse stethoscope cover!

Another Littman believer! I"ve used the same one for approx 5 years without a problem.

Only wish I could have a Mickey stethescope cover. we can't use the covers in our hospital. Our IC nurse thinks they are in infection risk.


Obviously, she doesn't love Mickey like I do or she'd relent...

DH is a nurse and while I have bought him stethescopes in the past as gifts it was only after he told me the specific Littman he wanted! Those look really cool, but without knowing how well they actually function, I wouldn't spend that kind of money and then have her not be happy with it.

To all the NAYSAYERS out there,
We have these on our ambulance and they use them in ER a LOT. the sound quality is AWESOME !
My wife is a nurse and would love to have one except all the doctors would try and walk off with it.
They really work great .
