For all you DONALD DUCK FANS- How is the ride in the MK and the STORE About him????

Hey Guys,
I am SOOOO excited as this will be my first time going to WDW when the new ride/show is up( Mickeys philarmagic?) and Ive heard that they've created a store on donald duck when you exit the ride- I was just wondering what kind of stuff did they have and was it exciting? I JUST LOVE DONALD DUCK!! I have so many souveniers all over my room but one or two more wouldnt hurt

Well we were there the week of 4-5-04 - 4-10-04 and going back in December. Yes I do remember Donald merchandise, but the real cool thing I got that was Donald was not at MK or any of the parks, but actually DTD. Go to Team Mickey and they have a hockey jersey with Donald on the front....Donald's team is Donald's Destroyers. When we go back I want to get the Grumpy's miners, Grumpy's rage, Mickey's Allstars, and Plutos Dawgs. THey also have a cool hockey hat with all these on them. Well worth it.

Mickey's Philharmagic is an excellent ride!! It truly is some of Disney's best!!

Since you love Donald, have you eaten at Donald's Breakfastosaurus in AK? It is our favorite character breakfast because we easily get Donald up close and personal. Now if only Daisy would show up there!

We saw Daisy at the World Showcase in Epcot. She was part of the bus tour but I don't know if she always makes an appearance.

Yes we've eaten at donalds breakfast and loved it and we are going back again in July. **CROW11- I saw that in dtd but it was only offered I believe in childrens sizes but I could be wrong this was almost a year ago!! Any more donald duck souvenirs around??? THAANKS for your help!!

Philharmagic ties for my second favorite MK attraction with Buzz Lightyear. It was such a great show. And the store had such cute things in it. Light up sorcerer mickey hats and donald stuffed animals and hats. My favorite though has to be the little donald beak that makes that cute duck noise when you blow into it. I saw a lot of kids with them and it made me laugh every time they made noise with them.

Donaldsgirl....no you can get them in adult sizes... I got one from our trip in April. Good news...we are now thinking about 6 days and nights in December. It's true believe in the magic and the magic will take care of you.

DonaldsGrl - Sorry, I don't remember any blankets or towels in the store after Philharmagic. I would definitely look in the home store at DTD though, they have so many things there that I bet they have something with Donald on it for you

Philharmagic is a awesome show. I am a big fan of the 3-Ds at each park and this one is amazing. I love when Donald is near the other characters from the different movies. I went on that about 3 times when I was there in December. I think there is Donald Duck merchandise at the store. There are a few sculptures of Donald around too.

Since this entire THREAD is about Donald and Philharmagic I guess this can't really be considered a "Spoiler."
One of the biggest surprises when an "unknowing" guest sees this attraction is that it is always billed as "MICKEY'S Philharmagic." There is no indication before the show that it will really be virtually ALL DONALD'S production!

It is so beautifully crafted!
From the moment you enter the movie theater, the audio "pre-show" sets a "Goofy mood" but its still about getting MICKEY ready for the show.

When the curtain is finally (accidentally?) raised and you get your first glimpse (still shown in flat 2D at this point) of Mr. D. Duck in a "low-key" position... it is hysterical!

And the film just gets better as it unreels.
This is the classic Donald we know from his "Bee Pictures" and his time-honored sparring with Chip 'n Dale.
He is our old befuddled buddy who "digs" HIMSELF deeper and deeper into trouble.
But still can't help but be a LOVABLE "little-kid" (duckling?) when he receives a bit of kind attention from other characters in the film (some NICE moments, here.)

And let's not forget the EFFECTS themselves.
In scenes above and IN the city of Agrabah, the "camera" and audience are "flown" on a trip unprecedented in prior 3D entertainment films (think Disney Quest carpets.)
It is BREATH-TAKING in the truest sense of the word. I gasp each time I experience it.
There were actually several times during the film where the audiences (at lest the one I happened to be with) broke into spontaneous applause (for a MOVIE!)

This film should be the new STANDARD of 3D (4D?) films at Disney... technically- advanced, and yet completely-satisfying in script and character-behavior.

It does Disney proud, and it does DONALD proud!
I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.

p.s. I'd LOVE to see a film like this shown in the "Soarin'" attraction. It would be a phenomenal experience.

We will be in MK at the very beginning of November 2004. Is this movie now a regular attraction open all the time? Somehow we missed it last year (!!!). Is it a seasonal thing, only open during peak seasons??

It opened about Aug. or Sept. last year.
It is now a full-time very POPULAR attraction. Opened with FastPass and you'll want to use them.
Its in the theater in Fantasyland (near the carousel) that used to offer the Lion King "puppet" show.
Complete re-build of the theater and a knock-out show... have fun.
