For all of you candy buffet lovers!!

There is another pin that says they got all their stuff from the Dollar Tree.

i would try thrift shops, dollar stores, and garage sales. also begin saving any glass jars you have. you could always tie a pretty ribbon or wrapping paper around them to cover logos that are in the glass.

if you could get to a dollar store that would prolly be the best bet. i have used them before for centerpieces and party decor and they always have what i want.

Tongs work for some items but a lot of the candies need scoops. I got cheap silver scoops at wal-mart and tied satin ribbons on the handles...voila! I found most of my containers at Ross/Marshall's/TJ Maxx, But a giant champagne glass came from wal-mart. I tied all the differnt glass containers together by sticking red & zebra print ribbons around the edges of the containers with spray adhesive. I need to start buying candy for candy buffet #2 ...graduation party in June!

I need to find little scoops. What section did you find them in at Walmart? Those places are so huge I never know where to start.

Walmart has the cute glass candy containers. The ones that look like what used to sit on the counter at the store, with the silver lid. They had a few different sizes, they were down the aisle with the pans, jars...etc. Plus places like Factory Card and Party City have some tongs and different scoops.

Which part of WV are you in? There is a big craft store in Parkersburg that has really good deals. (It's been a few years since I have been there, so I guess it still exists. If you are relatively close, let me know and I will see if I can find the name.

Also, don't restrict yourself to just the dish section--look near the candles too--lot's of neat shaped glass containers. Look at the floral area for vases and small planters.

I would definitely check out Ross. The last time I looked, they had a nice assortment of really pretty glass jars, bowls, etc. We almost did a candy buffet for our wedding last summer, and I found a whole bunch of gorgeous pieces at Ross. I think the most expensive, and also the largest one, was only about $13. They also had some for $6 or less too.
