DD 2 wakes up last night about 1:30 am crying saying she doesn't feel good. She usually wants mom when she is sick but she was yelling for me last night so I got her up and took temp. etc.. She says her throat hurts and wants some juice. We were out of juice so she says she wants some of my orange gatorade as it usually calms her stomach. She takes a few drinks and lays here head on my shoulder. She then proceeds to raise her head up and throw up in my ear, right eye a little, in my mouth and down my shirt. :rotfl2: It was projectile vomit to the face and side of the head. :rotfl: Bless her heart she is feeling better this morning but it was the first time in a long time I've had to shower at 2:00 am and brush my teeth about 5 times! ;) '

Just a little something to look forward too!!

Boy, that brings back memories! (You're a sweet dad) :)

Aww, hope she feels better! DD was sick on Christmas Eve last year. The first time she threw up caught us off guard and was all over my shirt. We all changed, got cleaned up, kept a bowl around. Apparently it was more comforting for her to throw up on me instead of in the bowl, cuz she proceeded to do so 3 more times, and would get mad if I put the bowl by her. Luckily, it was on my clothes, and not my face though.

:thumbsup2 It's what they don't tell you in your childbirth classes that's really going to hurt later down the road!

DD did this to DH while we were waiting in line at McDonald's one time. She did manage to get it all on DH and none on the floor! Good girl! :teeth:

Being the recipient of projectile vomit can also extend to close friends and relatives :teeth: - I will never let my niece (now 10) live down the time that we were out having breakfast and she threw up all over me in the diner (she was about 3 at the time). My own DDs have not gotten me yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time!

Gee, and since DH works nights, I'll be the only one on "puke" duty...can't hardly wait! ;)

Thank you so much for sharing that. :crazy2: I think I found a new cheap and effective form of birth control.

Poor baby! I'm glad she's feeling better. What a great dad!

Poor baby (and you too) :cloud9:

DH does puke duty here---my stomach can't handle it. :crazy2:

Hehe :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Well, at least she feels better.

DH and I have an agreement...he handles the vomit and I get the poo. (which is all pet poo now, but I don't mind....anything to stay away from the vomit)

I get blood too...oh well, lol.

Oh I was so lucky! Our daughter was a 'Daddy's girl', and she always wanted him to throw up on. :rotfl2: She would even deliberately turn herself around to 'get' him while at it. There was no holding her out to do it, she was one strong little booger when she wanted to throw up, and Dad was the receptacle, er man! :lmao:

Oh god yes..I know that feeling. DS got sick with a little virus that was going around a couple of months ago and managed to projective vomit not only on DH, but me also when I went to change him after the first round.

I was okay until you got to "mouth" -- then my stomach flipped a little. I think I feel more sorry for you than for her!

He'll get his chance - puke happens during the day too!

Ditto. Full up sympathy puker here!! If I try to clean up the mess, I get sick. I make it to the bathroomm though!

Ugh I'm so glad we are done with those years! I had my share of projectile vomit on me as a mom of 3 but the best was my dh got it while we were waiting to have family pictures taken. We were all dressed up, inlaws too and we were waiting for our turn. Dh is playing with dd and he kept throwing her up in the air. I kept telling him not to do it as she'd just had formula and some baby food one of which was peas. He wouldn't listen to me and he puts her up above his head holding on to her and the puke gods released. It was so vile! It ended up being a vomit fest in the picture studio as my fil puked and my bil puked and then dd puked again while I ran out knowing I'd just add more puke to the pile! Since then dh has been on puke duty and I get all the other nastiness associated with having kids.

Glad she's feeling better though ;)

Uggh! I'm having flashbacks! Ds had reflux for the first year and both DD and Ds have a quick gag reflex. I've seen more vomit than I care to remember. However, the most vile thing I experience was when I was changing DD's diaper (I don't remember how old...less than a year). She had her diaper off and had projectile issues on the "other end". It went all over me and the nursery carpet. It was particularly "fun" because I was alone with the twins and I had to clean DD, get her dressed and off the changing table before I could think about cleaning myself or the room. That was one of those days that I had my coat and purse on when DH came home and I was out the door as soon as he came in. A little retail therapy, and I was good as new.

When DS had the Rotavirus I had a similar occurence. Although in my case what happened was he threw up and since it was mostly pedialyte it soaked thru my clothes. I had to change my bra and my underwear - they were soaked. He missed my head thank goodness. He's spit up on DH before though and got his face, his back, his front, etc.
