For a few moments

Wow, y'all are making my day! Thank you for the kind words.

I guess it shows that we all appreciate a few moments of un-business to reflect and relax.

Wonderful story, Alan. We love watching thunderstorms as well, and it is interesting, isn't it, when the power goes out, and you can't type on the computer, watch TV, or play Ninendo, how much you can just sit back and enjoy the company of your family . . .

By the way, Alan, our kids' piano teacher is blind also. She has truly been an inspiration to our kids in the way she lives independently (aided by a Seeing Eye dog, Rumor), is tremendously talented in music, and has never let her disability affect her zest for life. She goes skiing, rock climbing, and loves roller coasters. She is an amazing person.

Very nice post, and very well written. Thank you for sharing that moment of peace with us. :)

:D What a nice, peaceful moment. Sure makes you appreciate the simple things in life. :D

With the hectic life I lead (and choose to LOL) its nice to feel some peace sometimes - even if thats vicariously through others! So thanks for the sharing Alan, a great post :)

That is beautiful Alan. Thank you for allowing us to share in the peacefulness of the evening with you ... "for a few moments." :) :) I love posts/threads that make me smile. :)

I'm also smiling while reading this, what a lovely time you spent together. :D

People ask us how we can manage the drive to Florida but that's some of the nicest times for us to be all together as a family. There's no TV or phone interruptions and even though we do have cd players we also spend time talking together. On our journeys south and then back north in the past 2 weeks we shared jokes, stories and fond memories. I especially enjoyed the kids talking about "when we were little".

These are the times that stay with you always. :D
