bring your own beverage like a sippy box into restaurants? can i bring a bottle of water in for me? and can she share off our plates?

I don't know about the drinks. At TS and QS, you can share meals, however, at buffets, she will be charged the child's price for the meal. You can't share at buffets unless you have a child under 3 years old.

It wouldn't be a problem at CS spots or food courts.

It would not be allowed at buffets or AYCTE restaurants. Well, I guess you could bring in your own drinks, but you'd still be charged the full price of the meal).

At TS a la carte restaurants? You can get free filtered water at any restaurant just by asking your server. You could share your meal with your child at most of these restaurants.

Maybe I'm totally wrong on this, but isn't bringing outside food/beverages into restaurants a violation of health code?

I can't answer the question about bringing your own drinks to a restaurant as I've never heard of this before. I guess it can't hurt to call and ask though if it's really important to you. Not sure if it's a health thing or a cost thing but they will give you free ice water anywhere.

I would think if you are at a quick service or table service place, it's fine to not order a meal for her and have her share with you. I can't imagine them telling you at a restaurant that you HAVE to buy a meal for her. BUT if you are doing a buffet, they don't allow sharing.

I do this all the time in restaurants. My DS carries around a camelback ( well I carry, Mommy/Sherpa) & he drinks that occasionally I will let him order a juice or milk at dinners out but he really prefers water. I have never been told he couldn't drink it. If the meal was all inclusive ( like a AYCTE) I wouldn't expect to be credited for the cost if the drink he didn't get. That's absurd.

My girls and I share meals in CS and TS all the time (obviously not buffets/AYCTE)....and they're teens. We also only drink water (gotta stay hydrated and it's our preference), but we always ask them for a glass of water.....it's cold and fresh. (notice I said "glass" of water...if you ask for a "bottle" of water, they charge for that.

I have seen plenty of parents bring in sippy cups for their kids.

ok great! i just really prefer my bottled water for myself and i'd like dd4 to drink 100% juice, bottled water, or milk so it would be best to have her juice box or horizons milk box, plus it will save money. i'm only asking qs and ts, not at the buffets. ty for your knowledge!

plus we'd save a lot sharing, and that leaves me more room for dessert! dessert dessert!

We bring sippy cups everywhere, both kids (5 & 2) have them. Sometimes it's milk that needs to be kept cool, sometimes it's just easier not to have them hold an open cup. We've never had problems in TS. For non buffets, I still order something for my 5yo, but the chances of him eating it are slim.
