Left this morning, but are taking a detour to Houston,TX first for our Grandson's graduation. There is construction in southern IL. We just went through it about an hour ago and there were no delays. IL still has the truck speed limit the same speed as cars unlike IN which has a lower speed for trucks. But since fuel prices are higher in IL than IN, I think a lot of trucks take 65 when headed in that direction. I am seeing more trucks on 57 south of the 24 exit (headed to MO) than I have seen on 24 between 57 and 65.
As long as you avoid rush hours around larger cities, you should be okay. Do be aware that some states do their road construction during the night time hours.
73 days until our trip. But first we have to move out of our house and in with my in laws, go to California to visit San Fran (flying) then driving down the coast to Disneyland. One thing at a time I guess!
busy, busy. I would live under rock before I moved in with my in laws.

ok. sounds good. when we get closer, ill pm you my cell number and just text when you are around. the 19th is our last day so we go to the mk in the am and see what happens the rest of the day. I finish loading the car the day also. let see if we can meet up.I'm staying at CBR!!! I'll be there in the morning on the 19th! After a nap I'd love to meet up!
One day the "elusive bc" and dvczerfs will cross paths, and I have a feeling that the meeting will take place somewhere other than WDW. Probably the Jersey Shore!
Next trip to WDW: August.
All the best.![]()

you never know!!!! i got a email yesterday from the walt Disney company. when briana was going through the college program application process, she put her and my email as her contact email. looks like someone has been poking around to see what is available. its started out by saying, "let our future be your future" "
in so many words they said since she is in the cm family and knows what it takes, they invite her to look at the roles available. I don't think she is seriously looking into it. most of the roles are part time and min.wage and she knows she couldn't make it on that. she also remarked the other day that it was nice coming home from an a/c office and not having soggy feet.
so we will see.... ill keep you posted. (i wouldn't mind getting those cm room discounts again

I have looked on that site before, but they don't give salaries. ???here you go, this would be the easiest way. I like looking around on here also just for laughs. http://disneycareers.com/en/default/ a lot of them are 8.50-9.50 an hour. bus drivers, housekeepers are into the 10-11 range. dd started at 8.35 and got to 8.90 in eight months as a college program student. its not an easy place to work for. they have there rules and are not flexible in anyway. they put up with nothing. which, like everything Disney does, how they control 60,ooo employees on one site is amazing. I sat in the cm parking lot of the mk one night waiting for dd to get off work. (3am, she was suppose to get out at midnight) but just sitting and watching the cms get off the bus and go to another bus or there cars. the amount of people, what they have on. even an off duty cm is expected to conduct themselves in a curtain manner. you are a representative of the company on duty and off. there a no special tunnels into the parks, they sit in the same traffic as you do. dd use to leave her apartment at least 2 hours before her shift started and she lived near dtd. there is no excuse for being late. they have a points system. x amount of points you are warned.... x amount you are suspended and x amount you are let go. dd only got 1/2 point in her stint. she was scheduled to work in tomorrow land, she showed up dressed for tl. they changed her location to main street. she had to go back out to costuming which is back out on the bus, change and come back. by that time she was late for work and was givin a 1/2 point. even though she showed up dressed for her assignment. using the tunnel system..... you come up in the wrong stairwell and get caught..... wrong costume in the wrong part of the park. the kid loved it!!!! she got to work Halloween, Christmas parties, stayed at just about every resort, met a lot of great people and some not to great. even if she never went back to work there again, she can always say she did it and has a lot of cool stories to tell her grand kids one day.
