We start our drive from Dallastown, PA in 27 days!! Here's to hoping gas prices don't go too high before we leave.

I'm so EXCITED!! :hyper:

Hmmm....lots of PA people headed to Disney in September!! Mass exodus from the state! :rotfl:

I don't know if the statistic is still true, but PA, especially Philadelphia and surrounding area, is/was the #1 area that folks visited Disney World. That's why the Disney characters (Mickey, Minnie, etc. ) are in the Philly Thanksgiving parade. They don't appear anywhere else at that time, you'll see other Disney characters at other places on Thanksgiving.

wonder why???? :lmao:

it is funny, dd's first name tag had her college on it. she had that one for three weeks and there were a lot of people who said I live near there or we live close to there. well, she left it on her costume one night and the mouse washed it. it was gone. she had to order a new one and for some reason they only make one with your college name on it. you lose it or ruin it, your new tag has your home town on it.
she has had her new name tag for over a month and there was only one person who said "we are from the poconos".
a lot of times she ask people where there from, looking for someone who maybe from close to home, and has not found one yet. she thinks people from pa don't eat popcorn or ice cream. so she has taken it upon her self to eat as many mm ice cream sandwiches as she can.:lmao:

Regular gas per gallon "down" to $3.39 in parts of southern Ocean County, NJ.

All the best. :thumbsup2

I paid $3.29 in Middletown (maybe Keansburg) on Rt 36 on Sunday.

Hello all. Here in FL now after driving down last Thursday and Friday. I79, i77 and i26 were all easy drives with only slight construction lane closures. i95 was a pain, until the 3 lanes kicked in, and then i4 was awful. Slow traffic and delays added an hour to the drive from SC to Orlando. We overnighted at the Columbia Country Inn & Suites. Drove to Clearwater Beach Sunday and back to Orlando today. seriously congested and some really stupid drivers weaving... Some taking an extended break upside down in the median, heh heh.

That's too funny about Philly/surrounding area being a place where so many Disney visitors are from. But now that I think about it, it makes sense!!

dvczerfs - my friend from high school was an EMT for Brevard County, FL and she said she used to meet all kinds of people from our area of PA. She once had an elderly lady in the ambulance that spent the whole ride talking to her about one of really popular local pizza shops and how much they both loved it. LOL Sorry to hear about your DD not getting another name tag with her college on it. Sounds like it was a great conversation starter. Hmm, I might just have to look her up when we visit. And by the way...we LOVE popcorn!! :lmao:

she is fine with the name tag with her home town on it. she is just glad to be wearing one. :thumbsup2 if you want, pm me with in two weeks of when you are going to be down and I can give you an idea where to find her. she moves around and with the florida weather, she is not all ways where she is suppose to be.

Was able to book the Sweet Seats 3D dessert party for Oct. 4 so now to make our reservations for Disney. We let our AP's expire and will get new ones when we get there - first time in 6 years that we didn't renew. That extra 3 months that they gave AP holders that one year, threw off our renewal date from a time that we usually visit and I hate to have to keep track of the will call paper receipt for a couple of months. Now at least our AP will expire around a time when we usually drive down for my birthday.
Hubby has to take his yearly tax preparers course and found that there is a two day one offered in Nov. in Orlando. He is thinking about taking that one - I can visit the parks while he is class and we can get a nice dinner and a little park time at night - maybe even take in the MVMCP after his class is over. So now I have two trips to plan.

Thinking of taking the autotran for the tripback from Disney to Virginia the we have to drive to northern Nj. Priced it out 540$ for 4 and the car 17 hours and that includes meals. We are def stopping on the way home halfway for hotel +gas +fast food what do you guys think our trip down is different visiting family 1/2 way so we have a free night . But the way home I just want to get home it's the $ I'm trying to figure out.
