Anyone know if they charge you more to use a CC at the gas stations in KY, TN or FL?

I know in IL we don't (I actually thought it was illegal as it was for a while & then it disappeared) but apparently on the East Coast they can still do it. When we drove to CT last year, I know there was a price difference.

I just want a heads up so I know which way I should budget for fuel.

Thanks.

same price. I have seen truck stops post different rates for diesel, for cash vs credit. But for unleaded I have always paid the same price.

So when someone posted about driving with her rebuilt transmission I thought - what's the big deal? Then I learned ehre that you should drive a rebuilt awhile before taking a long road trip. What smart DISers you all are. DH is on the side of the road with our minivan. The freshly rebuilt tranny is leaking fluid everywhere and the car will not drive :sad2: Poor guy was just looking forward to coming home after being out in the heat working all day and now gets to hang out by the side of the road waiting for a tow truck. At least we weren't en route to Disney

Funny you should say this. On the Monday before our trip for our 1st DCL cruise, DS comes to my work & shows me pictures on his phone of a transmission he is working on. (He worked at an AAMCO station at the time. Then he tells me it's our car:scared1:, the only car that he is insured on and we are planning on taking on the trip leaving on Friday. I totally freak. What if it's not done by then? He says that I'm a worry wort & it will be fine. He finishes it Thursday afternoon. We take it to Florida because we have no other option if he is going to help with the driving. Thank goodness he did a good job. The trannie lasted not only through that trip but for 4 more years. It is just now starting to act up again, but he puts a lot of miles on it during a year. Not like my car. I only usually drive it to work, 5 minuted from home, & back plus other short trips other than the few trips we took it on to FL in its early years and even then we used the AutoTrain for some of the trips to keep from adding mileage.

I looked for a 4000+ thread first but i didnt find one.
Lol
My wife and I are driving to Disney together for the first time in Oct. She has driven it with her family before. We are coming from Boulder Colorado and coming back via Houston Texas to visit a friend. Cant wait for the adventure.

:lmao: briana graduated last nigh from hs. we had to wait outside stabler areana from 4:45 till 6pm. i told tammy to get use to it, its gonna get alot hotter next week.:lmao::thumbsup2

Had a similar conversation yesterday with my neighbor, who is flying to WDW, while we are driving. Especially since it was hotter here than in Orlando. Her son is Helping Hands at Wegmans and got quite primed for Orlando heat pushing around carts at Wegmans yesterday.

I remember standing outside Stabler last year for my neice's grad. It was a balmy 95 degrees.......

PM sent with my cell number.

Now that's a trip! Tell me you aren't doing it in a sub-compact vehicle...

Now, I know this is not a WDW related trip, but a friend of mine is moving from Anchorage, AK to Charleston, SC and they are leaving tomorrow. They are going to stop in Texas to pick up some furniture and meet her boyfiriend's family before making the final leg to Charleston. I told her to keep me posted on how many miles they will be driving. The boyfriend has a goal to visit every state in the US (he is in the coast guard) and he hasn't been to North Dakota yet, so going that way might add some miles. Map Quest puts it over 5000 miles total one way. Now, that is a road trip! :thumbsup2

Out of curiosity, what was the bounceback?

35% off value, mods and the cabins through the end of this year for selected weeks. We aleady are planning on going to Charlotte, NC Over the weekend of October 22nd for an Irish Dance thing and the follow week was one of the weeks. So we booked for check-in on the 23rd and check out on the 28th at All Star Music.

We'll see if we make it, it's a maybe trip, but it's booked and we'll see what happens. The hotel with tax is $348 for 5 nights which we thought was great. We're toying with not going to WDW but getting APs for Universal. We'll see.

But how could we pass up the deal and "only" being about 550 miles away?

Just wanted to stop by and say:

We're leaving Wed afternoon driving straight through taking I95 all the way. I expect to roll into Orlando early Thurs afternoon. Yeee Haaa Disney here we come!!! :cool1:

There is a report of construction near Christianburg, VA
see http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=40704522&postcount=1729

We leave July 2, and we're taking the 81 - 77 - 26 - 95 route. When do you leave?
BTW -we have lots of relatives in Skaneateles. Hope to move there in a couple of years. I've got an uncle that lives in Camillus, just off of Route 5, at the top of the hill near where the highway turns into a two-lane road (Greencastle Street, I think)

We leave July 9th at the crack of dawn, we plan on doing about 15 - 16 hours on day one, sleep in southern GA. then waking up to a complementary breakfast in our hotel and do a 3:45 minute sprint to the world.

By the way, I have a co worker who did this route about a month ago and didnt have to use the bypass from the post above. She said they never reduced lanes and the traffic flowed past the work well.
