Luckily we had a 9:40 FP and walked right on. But the line was insanely long !!! At 9am it was 60 minutes by the time we got off it was 245 min and then went up to 295!!

It was a really fun ride but IMHO absolutely nothing is worth standing mostly in the heat and sun for 4 hours!!

I would agree. That's almost five hours, when the heat index is in the triple digits. I was at Disney on Wednesday for one last trip through GMR and Energy, and it was difficult enough to handle the heat with frequent indoor breaks. I can't imagine being in line outdoors for several hours straight. If I knew standby was going to be my only option I think I would be trying to make the trip during a cooler time of year if I could.

Is that even possible? I mean at some point don't CMs say no more in line?

FIVE HOURS
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Good ride, well done, nice details .............. but, yeah, no way!

I think it was said that crazy long queue line was built to handle a 6 hour wait ........... with no bathroom.

I thought the cap was 240 mins based on another thread.

But that's insanity - who would wait that long for anything?!

I've been watching the wait times, and at 1:00ish pm it was 120 minutes.

Seems everyone has the same rope drop strategy, but the middle of the day, when it's super hot, may be a better time to ride it.

We did rope drop and were finished both FOP and Navi River by 10:00 (park opened at 9). We walked around did some other attractions went back for lunch around 12:00. By the time we finished lunch we were walking by the standby line and a CM was at the end of the line with a sign stating "end of line" but we heard him say from this point it's a 5 to 5 1/2 hour wait. OMG, I would have walked out. We absolutely loved the ride but no way would I wait 5 hours in Florida heat and humidity.

WDW might want to hurry with those expansions they recently announced to spread the crowds out better.

Oh those expansions will only bring more crowds. :)
FoP just won't be the shiny new toy anymore, and we'll have similar threads about the wait times on the next big thing.

According to Touring Plans, the posted wait was down to 120 minutes by 7 pm with an actual wait of 40 minutes. TP didn't have any users report an actual wait while the posted time was 295.

As with almost all WDW attractions, the lines get considerably shorter when evening arrives.
