Where is the foot path between MK & CR? How long does it take to walk it? We have a breakfast at Chef Mickey's and are staying at CBR. Wondering if bus to MK then foot path to CR is our best option.

TIA!

It hard to explain just stay right and follow the path around till you underneath the monorail track it a 15 min walk.

Yes it's the best way. We did it, taking bus from POP to MK, and it was a quick walk. Some people say to take the Monorail is good. But you have to walk about 10 minutes the opposite way of the CR and than how ever long the Monorail takes to get there.

It's very easy to find. When you get off the bus at the MK, follow the crowd. But, when you get to the end of the bus driveway (and almost underneath the monorail line) go right...everyone else will go left. You will see the sidewalk that runs directly underneath the monorail line. It follows the bus driveway...with the driveway on your right, and the park on the left. You will cross a street..there are lights so you don't have to worry. Then right on the to CR. It takes about 8 mins to walk..one of my favorite walks.

Bummer. That link didn't work. I think I found it on Google Earth, though. The foot path looks like it runs practically parallel to the bus lines, right? Then it curves around, bypassing the Contemporary parking lot straight to the front door of the CR?

Thanks, y'all! Those descriptions really helped!

One more question...If we were to catch the monorail from the MK, it goes the opposite direction of the CR, right? Like it goes to the GF first, right? So we would have to ride the monorail all the way around the resort loop before we got to the CR. Correct? Anyone know how long that takes?

No the resort line stop at cr first the mk express goes in the other direction and stop at ttc only. If you get there and there no monorail it could be a 5-10 wait depending where the monorail is but once on the monorail it could be no more then 2 min that including wait at the station for the doors to close. With the 5 min walk form the buses to mono rail then the possible 15 min wait it could take you 22 min or shorter depending on the monorail being at the station when you get there so I think walking better.

Oh, okay. I was remembering wrong (about the monorail.) Thanks for that info. :) It does seem like walking is the way to go.:thumbsup2

The basic issue with using the monorail to get to the CR, especially when arriving by bus, is that you are already half way to the CR when you get off the bus. You get off the bus, walk, in the opposite direction, to the monorail...about 3 mins. Then you possibly wait for the monorail to get there, then it has to unload and then you get on. Wait for it to load, then off to the CR...about 5 mins. It really is much easier to just walk.

Just wanted to say thanks again. The foot path was definitely the way to go. We stayed at CBR, took the bus to MK then walked to CR for breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Couldn't believe the line at CM's, BTW!!! :scared1:

i completely disagree. the resort monorail drops you off right at chef mickeys. if you take the path, you still have to get into the contemporary and up to chef mickeys. i think the best way is to get on the resort monorail.

Really? So if you take the monorail, you have to walk, in the opposite direction, then up the hill to the monorail platform, wait for a monorail to come, board, then wait for clearance to depart. Sometimes you may be held, due to traffic, along the line.
When you walk, you are halfway to the CR in the time it would have taken you to get to the monorail. Unless the monorail isn't crowded, and it is sitting there, waiting for you, and then leaves almost as soon as you board, it is not faster than walking. I took the monorail to the CR from MK one time...won't do it again. Took way too long. Faster for me to walk it.

While it's true that the Resort Monorail drops you off at the Contemporary and once you get off the esclator onto the 4th floor Chef Mickey's is steps away on the other side of the Monorail station, I still think when coming off a WDW bus at the Magic Kingdom it's faster to walk to the Contemporary. Like it was said before by walking from the Magic Kingdom bus station you are already halfway to the Contemporary, so walking towards the Magic Kingdom Monorail station means it will take you longer to arrive at the Contemporary.

What's wrong with the 5 minute walk....you need any exercise you can get before eating at CM, trust me I know. We had a very pleasant walk there last week. Orange was stuck on the track too so we got good pix of the halloween logos on the windows as we walked underneath!!!

Technically when you get off the bus everyone has to walk toward the monorail.
So when you get to the point where you would choose to walk to the CR or Monorail, it is approx 650 ft to get to the monorail station and 2500 ft to walk to the CR main entrance.
Once at the CR, it is a little bit of a shorter walk from the monorail station to CM than it is from the CR main entrance to CM.
You decide which would be best for you.

And you are very free to take whatever mode of transportation you desire :)

Although I do think saying "It drops you off right at CM's" is a slight bit of misinformation IMO...
