The "strange foods" thread got me thinking...I really miss Bacon crackers. You know, the ones that came in the orange box, sold alongside Chicken in a Biskits (which I also love)? I think they were also Nabisco. I used to LOVE those things with Port Wine cheese on 'em. Yum!

There was also some kind of microwave mac 'n' cheese I used to buy in college that--honest to God--was the best mac 'n' cheese I have ever had. I don't remember the brand or the name or anything, just that it was in a red & white package and that it RULED.

So, anyone else miss anything?

Remembered another one, though it just went away recently--Healthy Choice ice cream. It didn't taste "lite" at all...that was the first "diet" ice cream I ever had that I actually liked.

jalapeno rice (can't remember the brand) --used to buy it at Kash N Karry. It was really, really hot and SO good. :cloud9:

Better Cheddars, flat baked tortilla chips (I don't like the scoops), Wild for Mild Ole El Passo salsa. Also, I loved Space Food Sticks when I was a little girl and they're not made any more. Of course I might not like them if I tried them again.

Oh, and Ice Cube chocolates. They're hard to find, but I do see them every once in a while. YUM!

Sardines. My sister and I would sit at my dad's knees and beg like puppies when he ate them. I shudder to imagine even smelling them now!

Did that mac and cheese come in a white tray type of thing that you cooked it in? Because I loved that when I was growing up and always wonder what happened to it!

A Quaker Cereal...

Crunchy Corn Bran?...

I loved to snack on that stuff.

Not sure if it's strange, per se, but McDonald's had the BEST cinnamon danishes back in the 80s. Gosh those were so much better than the cinnamon rolls they have now.

I also love Pillsbury's blueberry turnovers. I am not sure if they make them anymore.

My fiancee and I love Udon noodles but they are hard to find around here. They are outstanding at the Yakitori House at Epcot though!!

Marathon candy bars. I've heard there's a similar candy bar sold in Epcot and I'm bound and determined to get one next visit.

Fun Fruits. They were the orignal "fruit snacks" and they were yummy. They weren't all these fancy shapes, just little jelly bean looking things.

Fudge Town cookies.
There are others that look similar, but none are the same :sad2:

I had heard Burry's (of NJ?) who also used to produce cookies for the Girl Scouts sold the recipies off to Dare in Canada. They have a number of cookies that suspiciously look like the old Burry's cookies:

I'll have to take a road trip with the kids some day.

These cookies by Keebler, Mini Middles. SO good! They were itty bitty bite-sized crispy chocolate chip cookies, filled with chocolate um, fudge? Like chocolate icing sort of, in consistency. I used to bite open the cookies and take the middle part and "frost" another cookie with it. I would end up with this big choco-monster cookie.

It was Nabisco or Keebler who made them...these awesome cookie-like bars with nuts, caramel and this neat layer of thin wafer like things...

Anyone remember those Hey-Dey Bars?

They do have Curly Wurlys in England for $2.50 each. I bought a couple of them and didn't bother to look at the price when I picked them up.

I liked Drumsticks, crackers shaped like a drumstick, and Chippos potato chips (came in a box).

I think Banquet made them--the pouch meals, they had veal parmegian, turkey w/gravy,salisbury steak plus some others. They were in the freezer section and you just opened the box and tossed it into either the microwave or a pot of water.

Also the Teddy Graham sandwich cookies--I loved the spice ones with the white filling

It is close, but not the same. As I read the OP, I immediately thought of Marathon bars. Those were my favorites of all time.

Yes! That was the only food I used to ask my mom to send me at school. I loved that stuff!
