foods you used to love but can't find anymore

I'm pretty sure I remember those, but I couldn't tell you the name of them for the life of me. Were they the size of Zingers, or were they bigger?

Kinda. Same texture as Suzy-Qs.

I have a couple of things. The first is some sort of chocolate candy bar. I can't remember what it was called. But it was rather thick, but had a kind of malty texture to it. I wish I could figure out what it was so I could try to track it down. It must be a good 15 years sense I have had one. They might be the Marathon bars you are all talking about, but I'm not sure.

The second is the boil and bag meals they used to make. There was one that was chicken, cheese, and rice. Yummy! And one that was beef and gravy that I would pour over bread. Quick, easy, and good.

Does anybody remember the "healthy" fast food chain called D'Lites? They used to have the BEST potato skins...nice and crispy.

Reggie Bars-my mom & I used to love them, maybe it was a east coast/NYC/tristate area thing since they had Reggie Jackson on them.

Mars Bars-I know they are sold somewhere but not here in CT or not where I can find them.

Hors D'evors-these I really miss. The last I recall of them was in the mid-1980's (I was in my teens-I am 35 now). They came in a box, frozen & were the puff pastry type of thing & there were 3 boards of them.

One was bacon, one was chives (I think) & one was cheese, my favorite.

Each board had little squares pressed into them & you broke the squares & put it on a baking sheet & baked them & they rose up (like those sponges when they get wet they get big).

I keep looking for them but I can't find them.

Bugles-hard to find but still around

TB bell beefers

Taco Bell Frito Burritos

Frozen doughnuts

Freakies cereal

Carnation Breakfast Bars - I never ate them for breakfast, but instead would eat them while watching "Alice" and "One Day at a Time" reruns after school.

Loved those! Ate them for lunch through most of Jr. High. Then they wewnt and changed them and I hated the new ones.

Also miss Apple Slice

How about Turkish Taffy, Hoffman's cream sode, and Horn and Hardart's Lemon Merangue pie?

I bet you are a New Yorker. I haven't had Hoffman cream soda in years. Loved that stuff.

Also the Teddy Graham sandwich cookies--I loved the spice ones with the white filling

My son loved getting those in his lunch when he was in elementary school!

From my childhood:

King Vitamin
!

Oooohhh.... my all time favorite cereal!!:woohoo: "King Vitamin! Have breakfast with the King!"

They still sell Munchos - but our grocery store only gets them every once in a Blue Moon.:guilty:

Bugles-hard to find but still around

Our store also sells Bugles - but they now come in a foil package instead of the box.

Someone also mentioned Chicken In A Biscuit - I still eat a couple of boxes a year of these crackers!:)

I miss the Dan Dee Corn Twisters.:sad1: And whenever I spy Sky Bar candy bars (which isn't very often), I practically wipe out the display by buying a couple of handfuls of them!:rotfl:

Oh, and Cheetos Paws--they were cat-paw shaped and were a lot cheesier than normal Cheetos are. They were around the summer after I graduated HS (1991) and were one of the "staple" foods my friends and I always had to have at parties.

Flavored peanut butter, don't remember the brand. There was chocolate, cinnamon (my favorite! ), and a third...maybe, vanilla? The cinnamon one was really good on a pb and banana sandwich! YUM!

Would that be the "Milkshake" candy bar? I think it was a malted milk flover but a nougat texture.

The Marathon Bars was a LONG bar of goooooy caramel covered in chocolate

I miss a couple of things I used to eat in the 70's, when I was really little:
-Toaster Pizzas: I don't remember who made them, but they were similar to the "uncrustables" PB & J's that are sold now, only there was pizza sauce and a tiny bit of cheese in the middle.

-Cheese Waffies: These were a kind of snack in the chips aisle. They were teeny waffle-shaped sandwich things with super-salty electric orange filling. Completely artificial, but my brother and I could finish off the bag in one sitting! :scared: My mother insists they still sell them but I'm not sure I could inflict them on my body at this age!

-Choco-lite bars: This was a chocolate bar that had tiny bubbles in it. They still make them in England, but they're called "Aero" over there. Yum!

KFC used to have these little chicken sandwiches called Chicken Littles. They were so freakin' good, but you can't find them anymore.

I used to love that place. We had one on campus when I was in college. I ate there all the time.

Archway Cherry Nougat Cookies!!!

They were THE BEST!! They only put them out at Christmas and I vividly remember eating dozens upon dozens of them each year. You knew it was the holidays when those came out ::yes:: They were tiny (like the wedding cookie I think they still make) and pink and had little cherry candy chips in them. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm they were good!

For me it's Screamin Yellow Zonkers...a buttery toffee sugared popcorn. It came/comes? in a black and yellow box. I haven't seen it for ages:hippie:

Darn you!! I remember those now!! I just gained 4 pounds thinking of those little buggers!

Reggie Bars-my mom & I used to love them, maybe it was a east coast/NYC/tristate area thing since they had Reggie Jackson on them.

.
I went to Reggie Day at Yankee Stadium maybe 10-12 years ago and they sold Reggie Bars that day--we all got them, still as yummy as I remembered!

I miss Fudgetown cookies most of all. Why do they not make them anymore? Ugh!
Also, I think they were called Giggles--vanilla cookies and chocolate cookies that had a smiley face on each.
Actually I remember those in the mid 80s, I think they were just like something simlar i had as a kid in the late 70s which is what I really miss more, but I can't remember that name.

There was another cookie, sort of like chocolate covered mint Oreos, but they weren't Oreos. Mint Meltaways maybe? They were so good!

American cheese with bits of pepperoni in it. My mom used to get it for us every once in awhile (from the deli). I still keep an eye out just in case they decide to bring it back.

Yummm, one of my favorites. I actually had some on a deli tray a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it was at a funeral so I didn't want to ask where they got it.

Aerobars...now only sold in Canada and Europe.
