For those of you that are having a plated dinner, are you only have one entree and asking your guests with the invitations to choose between certain food items? I am worried that duel plate is too expensive for us, but I don't want to be "tacky" by asking them what they would like for dinner. Any ideas?

We offered a choice of 3 entrees - included a little menu choice card as a separate enclosure in the invitation. I don't think it's tacky to ask their preference. If I were a guest, I'd rather be asked my preference HTH!

We did a duel plate at ours. I would ask your planner the difference in price. It might not be as bad as you think.

I told my family about asking our guests with the invites, but they said it was not appropriate, but I don't think it's a big deal. I would rather have someone happy with the food they want than have just chicken for everyone.

I think it is appropriate to ask in the invite. I have been to many weddings where the meal card was included with the invite. I've also been to a few that have been dual plate. I personally didn't like that because I didn't like the fish that was being served.
