So has anyone with food allergies done the F&W events?

Do the marketplaces have the ingredient books like the CS places? And if so, was it a problem getting it or did it take a long time? Did they allow you to just step to the side and look at it and then when ready place your order? Or did you have to go to back of line?

And overall was it worthwhile? Were there many items you could still try or was it very limited?

I'm guessing that most desserts will be out as is the case for nut allergies. But what about the other items?

My Mom can't eat nuts or anything with seeds either. They publish a festival cookbook that they sell during the festival that has all the recipies for the food they serve at the booths. So you could always look through that to see which foods you can eat. The CM's at the booths try to help out but they aren't always 100% sure what is in each item. I do know that most of the items they serve at the Morrocco booth have nuts. Some items the Nuts are a garnish on the top that you can have them leave off when you purchase your food.

The non-Disney owned places at Epcot are pretty tough about being helpful with allergies and during F and W I'd think it would be worse. Most of them don't have ingredients. Definitely don't rely on the cookbooks because they change the recipes when cooking for larger quantities. For example normally Le Cellier makes their own stock for cheese soup (like the recipe) but during F and W they use a pre-made base that has soy and other hidden ingredients you might not be expecting (this includes the tasting booth and the restuarant during really busy times of year like F and W and CP). Just depends on how bad the allergy is as to how much you can risk trying something that you aren't 100% sure about.

I've done the kiosks and the paid events with no problems. I generally buy the cookbook and study it before doing the kiosks. I have asked that garnishes be left off or put in a seperate cup. At the paid events I tell them my allergies when I make the reservations. I have had wonderful meals made with strict attention to my allergies without making me feel like it was a hassle. I never felt like I had less attention to my dish than what everyone around me had.
