EDIT:

We're just going to do Food and Wine since they do not overlap, can't edit the title, keeps saying it can't be found. Anyway, would love any of your tips as to how to make the most of the food and wine festival....we've never been and need all the info!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have read about both of these events but everything I have read seems to be geared towards the people who know all about these things and have done them before.

We have never done either and need the details! How exactly does it work? What does it cost? How far ahead can you book? And lastly, is there a way to plan a trip to include both of these things? Do they overlap?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

The events do not overlap. Food and Wine: you must pay for each food or drink sample. The Processional is theoretically free but the standby line can require hours of waiting. You can buy a dinner package which gets you into the event.

Thank you for the info!

I guess we will skip the candlelight processional this year then and just go for food and wine. We'll save the other for another trip.

so any tips on best time to go for food and wine? Least crowded?

And are there package for the food and wine, like a card or something at a discount? Instead of buying at each booth

Least crowded weekdays, worst on a Sat, sometimes we'll leave early evening on a Fri as locals flood in after work hours. Be sure to check out the Eat to the Beat concerts, 3 shows every evening, acts change every 3rd or 4th day, we've never been disappointed, first show the most crowded, last the least. No kiosk food 'package' that I know of, I'd suggest you get one of those Disney Gift Cards, they're small and come on a bracelet lanyard. You pre load them with cash or via a credit card and when you buy from a booth you just have them read the card and you're done. You get a receipt that show the remaining $$ on the card which can also be used to buy almost any thing anywhere in WDW. We still have ours from last Nov with 20 some dollars on it for our next trip. Also, it saves the trouble of getting pockets full of change that accumulate if you pay by cash.

Also I see it went for a few months like August to November so is one month better than another?

Thanks for all the tips!

how is the gift card easier than just using a credit card?

You don't have to sign anything, swipe and go. Plus it's a great way do stick to a budget, you can't spend more than you put in.

Speaking of F&W, anyone know when the F&W Dates will be released? Still baffled as to theoretically only about 7 months away, certainly Disney must have this event planned at least 1 yr in advance, probably 2 or 3 years. Why not release the dates to the public?:confused3:confused: THANKS MUCH!!:wave2:
