Food suggestions for BCV studio...

First, does BCV have pizza delivery to the rooms?

Any suggestions for quick breakfasts and snacks in the room? Cereal isn't good cause the toddler would make a huge mess. Anything great for those toasters and microwave?

Where would be the closest grocery?

Is the freezer part of the fridge in the studios big enough to put in any frozen type foods?

Thanks for any tips! I would personally like to try to come up with something that I can buy at home and take down that doesn't require us taking a cooler. I'll go to the grocery if I have to, though.

I don't think there's any pizza delivery at BCV, but I could be wrong. You could always walk over to the Boardwalk pizza window. I personally think their pizza sucks, but the calzones are terrific.

For breakfast - how about instant oatmeal? There's a toaster in the studio, so you can always have pop-tarts, bagels or english muffins. Add some fruit and a glass of milk and you're set.

There's not a lot of room in the freezer, but you could probably wedge a few frozen meals in there. Especially if you took the ice cube trays out.

The gift shop in the Beach club sells some food, so you may not need a trip to the grocery.

I'd go with Pop Tarts,toast, english muffins, or those toaster pastries, maybe toaster waffles too. The freezer isn't huge, but as another poster said, if ou took out the ice cube trays, you could probably stuff a few frozen things in there. There is a Winn Dixie right outside of the gates. Go to Downtown Disney, continue on Hotel Plaza Blvd to the gate across from Goodings. Instead of going straight toward Goodings, take a left and the Winn Dixie is a short ways down on the right. They give you a few paper plates, plastic forks etc, so if you have any palstic plates or bowls(ie-Tupperware)at home, I'd say bring them, because they don't give you enough to eat in there for a week. Or, if you're making a grocery trip there, pick up some extra paper goods. They also sell that stuff in the gift shop in the Beach Club lobby(in addition to a fair amount of grocery items) but it is more expensive there than at a regular grocery store. The Winn Dixie isn't far if you have a car.

I would say the closest store with conveniently prepared foods is the one in BWV...They have various frozen foods and breakfast foods over there. Isn't there a bakery on the board walk as well?

One thing I found pretty handy to do is to bring items that travel well (say a can of chili) and combine it with foods from the convenience store to create fresh meals...

We will be packing a seperate suitcase filled with stuff from the Wal Mart Supercenter. I hear the stores there are as expensive as actually buying stuff on property. We plan on taking:

Plastic utensils and plates
Pop Tarts
Nutrigrain bars
English muffins
Easy Mac (Kraft mac an cheese)
Crackers (Cheez it type)
Cookies
Chips
Any other dry goods we might want to snack on


We plan usuing a grocery stop on the way to the hotel to pick up perishables like milk, butter, cream cheese and diet Coke (which is too heavy to pack). We also plan on getting some small frozen items like pizza rolls, hot pockets. We are going to bring along a few ziplocs so we can take items out of boxes and put them into the ziplocs so we can cram more into the freezer. We plan on doing most actual meals (other than breakfast) at the parks so we won't be actually doing any cooking in the studio, but we do want to have plenty to snack on since it seems like we always spend a lot on snacks!

We just got back from BCV and we ordered pizza from Papa John's. You have to meet them out front but 10 bucks for a bigger and better pep-pizza then they make in house for 20 was well worth it. The number was something like 407-477-7777 If I am wrong sorry but you can call any Papa Johns in the phone book in the room and they will give you the number of the one that delivers. Free local call too.

As for a supermarket. Goodings is a ripoff. We had a car so we drove to the Xentury City Publix. Decent prices, had everything we needed. Only about 5 minutes back by the Gaylord convention center. The valets gave us easy directions.
If you have a car, don't bother bringing the suitcase full of stuff. To me not hauling it around from home to airport to hotel to airport and home again is worth the extra couple of bucks.
