Food, SQUIRREL, and When We Are Old...A March 2012 TR

Well, I wanna hear more about the firework cruise!!!!! C'mon, don't leave a sistah hanging! :lmao::rotfl2:

That's weird that Piglet wasn't walking around the dining room. Maybe he wasn't feeling well? :confused3 I had never heard of a character not making rounds.

Can't wait to see your preggo picture! I also noticed that there's no dancing allowed on the tea cups! :thumbsup2

Nice update. I can just imagine trying to wade through the parade crowds ina hurry :scared1:

Love the kids gray Mickey long sleeved t-shirts :) Totally my style...wish they had things like that in my size.

I can't wait to hear more about the cruise. That sounds like it could be fun for our group next trip. Maybe I could surprise everyone!

hi! New follower here.. Thanks so much for the sweet comments on our Alice in Wonderland DFMN pics! Saw the link to your TR on your siggy and jumped right on it!! LOVE the TR and all the pics and the VIDEO....totally made me tear up. Your kids are GREAT, wonderful kids (remind me some of my 3) ;)

Oh and your middle child, with her feather earrings....my 10 yr DD would totally be wearing those! She has some black ones but those colorful ones...oh yeah. ;)

So excited to hear all about the fireworks cruise!!!!!!

I'm glad you did end up getting the pic of the kids with Hook and Smee. The nice thing about photos is that even if you were extremely rushed you can't tell int he pic. LOL So you have this wonderful keepsake still that looks GREAT :)

Can't wait to hear if you made it til 3am!!!

Hi, just got all caught up with you MK day. Its been crazy for me at work too and we took another mini vaca to Mammoth Cave NP camping.

We lost my DS autograph book a couple years ago. Luckily I had the forsight to put his name and address in it. A couple months after the trip it was mailed back with a few new autographs, it was great pixie dust. I can't wait to find out if you DS gets his badge back.

We did the CP breakfast this time. Our pooh was great he is my neice's favorite so we had him hold a sign that said "Hi, Amanda!" and took a pic to text to her. He loved it.

We never do EMH I'd like to know if you think they are worth staying up so late. How do you kids do? I fear my DS would be really grumpy and whinney.

Fantastic trip report! I just read it all this morning!

I have a question from pg 8…..what did your gratuity envelopes look like?

LOVE the movie night!

Loved the update Connie! Glad you made it in time for your Fireworks cruise... Phew! It looks like everyone had a great time at CP - that is our favorite. And how strange that Pooh didn't make the rounds?

D~

Thanks D~! We were so glad the weather cleared off for us on this night...It turned out to be a great night for a cruise! :cloud9:

All in due time, my friend, all in due time...:rolleyes1

Yeah, we thought it was strange for Piglet to not be going to the tables, too. They never did give any sort of explaination. :confused3

We had a very busy weekend, so I wasn't able to dig up the preggo pic...maybe tonight. popcorn::

Yes, those parade crowds were a nightmare. I got more than a few dirty looks as I was shoving my way through... :sad2:

I totally here you on those shirts! I actually got them through the online Disney store on clearance. Brian and I were VERY disappointed that they did not have adult sizes. Hard to see in the pictures so far, but he and I have matching shirts too...but we didn't like them near as much as we liked the kids' shirts. :sad1:

Can't wait to tell you all about the cruise! I would HIGHLY recommend it for a family excursion. It was so much fun!

Welcome, aLLpInK! I am so excited to have you join the fun! I just  that DFMN thread! My kids are loving the monthly "parties"! :rotfl:

Thanks for the sweet compliments about the TR and my kids. How old are your children? Yes, my Charity just loves accessorizing. Those earrings are our compromise from when she wanted to get one of those semi-permanent feathers in her hair...Mommy didn't go for that. :sad2: So we got the earrings instead. :thumbsup2

That is so true about the pictures. We can get great pictures and tell whatever story we want to tell, can't we? :rotfl2:

luvin the update
Thanks! :flower3:

We love Mammoth Cave! We have stayed in cabins close by before. Great place to have a getaway without spending the big $$$.

Love that story about the pixie-dusted autograph book coming to your house so long after your vacation! We just love getting any kind of Mickey mail, but that had to have been extra special! :cloud9:

Great Pooh story, too! I love that idea about having the character hold a sign for a "fan" back home. I just may have to steal that idea some time... :rolleyes1

Our trick for avoiding the late night grumpies is getting in a pretty long mid-day nap. We liked doing the evening EMH, but have decided on a different game plan for next time... popcorn::

LOVE the movie night!

WELCOME! Thanks for joining in! I got the free printable gratuity envelopes from www.themouseforless.com. There are several designs to choose from. It makes it easy to plan ahead financially and already have your cash tips saved and sorted before you even leave home. I highly recommend this! :thumbsup2

I will be updating our newest movie night this afternoon! popcorn::

THANKYOU! I love the downloads on the mouse saver for less! Is that where you also found the cool flags for the pirate boats?

I actually just got graphics from online for the pirate boats. I just googled "photos captain hook" and "photos jolly roger" to find those. :thumbsup2

Our movie night this weekend was Mulan! We went ahead and purchased this movie off of Ebay. We had only seen it once, but we LOVE it! I had a great time prepping for this movie night.

WARNING: I manned the camera on this night and I am a TERRIBLE photographer!

Here is the invitation:

My girls actually made the dessert (Chocolate Chow Mein Clusters), but I did not get a picture of them making them. :sad1:

Here is the table with decorations:

To show some of the details, here is my place setting:
DSCN2629.jpg

I had a different chinese character for each family member such as: beauty, grace, love, honor and courage on the place cards. I also did different Mulan characters for each napkin ring: Mushu, Crickey, warrior Mulan, princess Mulan and Li Shang.

Jillian, Brian and I all knew how to use chopsticks; but this was the first time for Gabe and Charity.

Charity and Gabe really picked it right up. I was very proud of them. We had the leftovers last night and they used the chopsticks to eat their leftovers too. They loved it!

We got them started on the activity for the night while we cleaned up after dinner. Chinese dragon masks to color:

The masks were pretty detailed, so they continued to work on them during the movie. When they finished coloring we enjoyed dessert with hot tea. This is a tea set Brian got for me while he was on a business trip to Japan 14 years ago...this was our first time actually using it!

Charity got to draw from the bowl of movie graphics to see what our next movie night will be:

The Princess and the Frog...mmmmm Cajun Food!

Such a great meal and lots of fun! I'll have to pass on the cajun food, but maybe your next movie night. :lmao::rotfl2:

I'm hoping to start these up with my niece. She hasn't seen most of the Disney movies. I figure I could rent them from the library if we don't already own it. Plus, some of the movies, my kiddos haven't seen either!

So proud of the kiddos for picking up on chopsticks so quickly! You saw my DS using them on my TR, right? :lmao::rotfl2:

Connie - that is just so awesome! You are soooo creative! I love how their masks turned out! Can't wait to see the pictures from your Princess and the Frog movie night! :)

D~

What a great movie night!!! I may have to borrow some ideas! ;)

I actually just watched the Princess and the Frog for the first time all the way through and I LOVED it! I can't wait to see how you guys do that!

Awesome movie night!!
Oh, to answer your question, My daughters are 10, 5 and about to turn 4 now! Growing so fast. Little Disney nuts too. :goodvibes
About how often do you do your movie nights? At first I was thinking once a month, but the kids keep asking me when we will do another. ;)

I just love your movie night idea! Such great themes

Ah, thanks! I just love doing these movie nights. They are a great outlet for my obsessive Disney planning personality! :thumbsup2

Ah, no cajun? Could I tempt you with some faux beignets? :confused3

Yeah, I plan to utilize our library for movies, too. But I do want to buy some of the ones we love...for cheap, on ebay!

Yes, didn't he used the two-handed method? :lmao: Charity started out that way, but she later picked up on it.
