Hi there everyone!

I wanted to give you guys a report of all of the places that we ate at during our trip.

It was DH & I, DS5, DS1, my mother and my MIL. DS5 only eats PB sandwiches, chicken nuggets and grilled cheese. DS1 eats off of our plates so the reviews below are based on what the adults are.

Day 1 - WDW:
b'fast - Main St. Bakery We had bagels and croissnats that were pretty good. They had some delicious looking breakfast treats that I wished we had tried - sticky buns, danish, etc...grade:B
lunch - Pinnochio Village Haus. MIL had a chicken salad which was very good, DH had a burger and my mom and I had hot dogs. The kids ate fries and since we had a seat overlooking It's a Small World the kids had a blast watching the ride. Food was typical theme-park fast food. grade:C-
dinner - Liberty Tree Tavern. The character interaction here was very good and I enjoyed the atmosphere here a lot. The food was okay. I don't think it was worth the money but we all had a fun time. They served the usual - rolls, salad (yum), turkey, ham, beef, mac & cheese, veggies, stuffing, mashed pots. We asked for cranberry sauce. Dessert was boston cream pie or ice cream. Grade: C

Day2 - Animal Kingdom:
b'fast - Donald's Breakfastosaurus. The service here was excellent & the food was all very good. They had scrambled eggs, a b'fast pizza, sausage patties, bacon, hash browns, biscuits & gravy, quiche, frittata, cinnamon swirl french toast, pancakes (plain & choco. chip) a made to order omelet bar and mickey pancakes, danish, cereal, yogurt and donuts. My only complaint is that the character interaction was awful. We saw 3 of the 4 characters but only after asking our server to make sure they got to us. Perhaps our table was in a bad spot. We were there for almost an hour and 15 minutes! Grade: food - B, characters - D.
dinner - BOMA . This was by far the BEST meal that we had. I was so excited to try this place based on everyone's reviews and it lived up to all of my expectations!!! I cannot rave about this place enough. The amount of food that they offered was amazing. Some of my favorite things were the curry chicken soup, the peanut rice, the curry salmon, the ground beef casserole, lentil patties& flat breads w/hummus, curry pot. salad. We tried a little bit of everything so I could go on and on...The desserts were some of the best at WDW - the zebra domes were tasty but my favorite was the pineapple cheesecake - yummmmmmm....... Plus it was DH's b-day and they had a card for him and a specially decorated cupcake. OUr server, Dilly, was wonderful! Grade - A++++++++

Day 3- Epcot - World Showcase:
lunch: Mexican Cantina . We had lunch at the cantina in front of Mexico. My MIL had a wet burrito which was HUGE and the rest of us each ordered a kids meal - burrito, chips and a drink. Food was good. grade: B
snacks: in Morocco we had 2 baklava and they were a nice treat
dinner: Rose & Crown . We had an early dinner here and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and good food. 3 of us had prime rib w/ mashed potatoes, yorkshire pudding and green beans, MIL had prime rib & prawns which she said were very good. For dessert we enjoyed an apple crisp and lemon mousse w/strawberry sauce and blueberries. Grade: B+

Day4 - MK:
lunch: Plaza Pavilion . We had salads w/chicken, green beans, potatoes, tomatoes and olives. DH had a pizza + salad. The salads were all very good, the pizza was like cafeteria pizza. Grade: C
snack: We had a Dole Whip which we enjoyed :)
dinner: [/B]'Ohana[/B]. We have eaten here before and enjoyed it a lot but this time we were in a bad location and were rushed. Food was decent - salad, dumplings, fried rice, mixed veggies, chicken wings, dipping sauces, shrimp, chicken, beef and pork, pineapple w/caramel. We also ordereed an extra dessert - creme brulee - it was okay but I've had much better. Grade: B-

Day 5 - Epcot - Future World:
lunch: Electric Umbrella. Once again your basic theme park fare. We had grilled chicken sandwiches. They were fine, the fries were extra greasy though. Grade: C-.
snack: Garden Grill Ice Cream Social . This was SO much fun! The ice cream was delicious and the character interaction was GREAT! They served the ice cream in a waffle cone that was attached to a chocolate chip cookie with chocolate. The ice cream was vanilla and they had gummy worms on it too. grade: B+

Day 6 - Marketplace, Typhoon Lagoon, Mini Golf:
lunch: Fultons . We decided to eat here at the last minute and boy are we glad that we did! I had a side caesar salad and a bowl of New England Clam Chowder - both were delicious! My mom and MIL both had shrimp club sandwiches and DH had a salad w/ grilled chicken. Their lemonade is refreshing too. Everyone enjoyed their lunch very much although the waitress was in a bad mood. Grade: A-

Day 7 - MGM:
b'fast: Grand Floridian Cafe. While DS5 was on the pirates cruise the rest of us decided to eat breakfast here. The server was a bit snooty at first but warmed up to us pretty quickly. We had 2 - eggs benedicts and 2 - breakfast platters with eggs, biscuits, hasbrowns and sausage. The food was good. Drew Carey was seated at the table opposite of us which MIL got a kick out of. Grade: B
dinner: Brown Derby. The atmosphere here is great. Our server was a super nice guy. We all enjoyed the food but the poritions were small and lacking of vegetables. DH and I had Filet Mignon w/ smashed pots, aioli and a red wine sauce. MIL had the pork w/ grits. For dessert we shared a pineapple cake which was interesting. Grade: B+

Day 8 - MK:
dinner: Crystal Palace . We have eaten here before for both breakfast and dinner and this time the food was better than it's been in the past. The characters came around and spent a decent amount of time with the kids. They had a full buffet of kids food (mac & cheese, pasta, nuggets, etc...) but my DS1 loved the tie-dyed bread. The "adult" stuff was carved turkey and prime rib. They had a variety of salads (the beef and blue cheese salad was very good), rolls, soupd, salmon, etc... For dessert we enjoyed key lime pie, creme brulee, flan, red cake, carrot cake, fresh fruit, cookies and ice cream. Grade: B+

I'm happy to answer any questions you guys have :)

***We also ate on rt. 192 at Wendys, Pizza Hut and Olive Garden

Happy Eating!!!! :)

Okay... I gained 10 lbs reading your food report!!

By the way - where did you stay?

What was the "red" cake at the Crystal Palace?

and that is SO COOL about seeing Drew Cary at the GF Cafe... did you play it cool or did you stare (like I would) lol

>>^..^<<

great review of your meals! sorry to hear you didn't have as good a dinner at ohana as in the past - you said maybe your seating location was in a bad area - where were you seated, and what time did you get there? (asking because we've got 5p dinner PS there in august - hoping because it's early we'll get a decent seat!)

>>^..^<< - Actually I only gained half a pound but DH gained 7! :). I was staring at Drew Carey's table but not because I recognized him. One of his companions was wearing a tacky skin tight turquoise pantsuit that was way too warm to be wearing and had some awful bleached hair. It wasn't until mush later that DH asked if I recognized the guy at the table. oops! The red cake didn't taste like much - I think it's basically a white cake dyed red. The most prominent taste was the frosting which was a cream cheese one. We stayed at the Doubletree Villas, Maingate. I wrote a review of it on the Orlando board if you're interested.

suzimar57 - We had PS for 'Ohana at 6:30 and we got there about 6:15. We had a window seat but it was on the reverse side of the open fire pit where they cook. There were a line of tables and a HUGE wall blocking the view to the rest of the restaurant. It's normally a great restaurant and the games they play for the kids are a lot of fun. You'll have a good time I bet and having an early PS is probably the way to go.

:)

>>^..^<< It sounds like the "red cake" that she was referring to is Red Velvet Cake. It is a deep red color and has cream cheese frosting and is soooo good!

Thanks for your dining report...I wish that more people would post their dining experiences...I really love reading about good Food!!! lol

RamsayTrio,

Thanks for your great reviews.

I have never thought about eating in The Main Street Bakery, will try to give it a go on my next trip.

Glad to hear that you had a positive experience in Pinochio's Haus, we ate there on our first trip and have vowed never to return.

Thanks for posting a detailed dining review!

Thanks for posting. Lots of detail. Sounds like a good dining trip.:D

Great reviews! I always forget what I ate let alone everyone else! LOL! What time is the ice cream social? We've eaten at the Garden Grill, before, but not the ice cream social, sounds like fun!

Traditionally, Red Velvet cake is actually pound cake with cream cheese icing. The batter is dyed deep red. It is sometimes made with a yellow cake recipe if you are being cheap about butter and eggs, but I would be really surprised to find a WDW restaurant doing that. Made correctly, it is REALLY rich. My recipe calls for 12 eggs and 1.5 lbs of butter, for a 3 layer 10" round cake.

Red Velvet cake is immensely popular in the South, especially with men. I have a friend who was a cook on an offshore drilling rig, and she said that most rigs have it on the menu every night, as the crews demand it. An armadillo-shaped RV groom's cake was featured in the wedding scene in "Steel Magnolias." Unfortunately, that one, gray icing and all, managed to look rather a bit like road kill. A "normal" Red Velvet cake is a very pretty thing to look at!

RamsayTrio,

I really enjoyed your review and ratings. We want to go back to Disney so much. Trying to make plans.

Thanks so much for the reviews! I'm now sitting here wishing that my dinner would cook faster!!!! Now I'm hungry!

I hadn't thought about lunch at Fulton's (most of what I have read about the restaurant has been about dinner), but I think I might like to try it next trip!

NotUrsula - As a girl who was born and bred in GA your red velvet cake description is making me hungry! It's one of my favorites and your description is right on the money, it sounds just like my mom's!
