Hi everyone! I don't eat meat, but my boyfriend does. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of places to eat in the parks that have a couple options for me but also have normal things too. I'm especially interested in counter service- we only have two days and not a lot of cash, so I'd rather stick to mostly counter service and conserve both. Thanks! -Meg

You could check out the menu at the blue bayou. Thier portabello mushrooms are really good and they have a couple salads to choose from.

I'm not really sure, but we were behind some Indian people in line at CA and they told the CM that they were sent over there because they were vegetarians and there was nothing at DL for them to eat? But again, I really don't know, just letting you know what I overheard.

They probably just didn't like the selections. There are salads sold just about everywhere. The Vineyard room in DCA does have great minestrone soup come to think of it! I'm going up on Saturday and will keep my eyes out for menues. Also, you can always check out some of the places in Downtown Disney. Napales has some great salads (the ceasar dressing has sardines used in it, but if trace use of animals doesn't bother you, that might be a good option for you). Also, if you plan on making reservations/priority seating in advance to any restruant, let them know in advance that you're a vegatarian! They are usually well equipped to whip up something great as long as you give them 24 hours notice. ;)

Many of the salads at the counter service places are made when ordered, so you can just ask for no meat. I've heard people asking for vegetarian items at French Market, but never paid attention to what they were offered. I don't remember anything specific on the menu. I know Riverbelle Terrace has a vegetarian stew. The pasta is really good at Plaza Inn.

Here's a link with menus, they've got the parks, hotels and some of the surrounding area.

They have pasta dishes at Pizza Port and Plaza Inn, if they come with chicken, I'm sure you could just ask them to make you one without! They have salads everywhere as well.

Carnation Cafe and the Blue Ribbon Bakery both have a really great veggie sandwich. It's a multi-grain sort of roll/bread thingy with lettuce, carrots, zucchini, avocado, red onion, sunflower seeds and I don't recall what else on it. If you get it at Carnation Cafe, it also comes with a delicious spread to put on it. Highly recommended.

I am a carnivore, but the veg. chili at the Pacific Wharf Cafe...

mmm! It's SO good! :)

I also think the fruit/granola/yogurt parfaits from La Brea Bakery are the best I've had...

:)

I love Rancho del Zocolo in Frontierland. Vegetarian Nachos, Tostada Salad, Burritos etc. They are NOT on the menu but you can ask for any of the items to be made without meat.

Also dont' be afraid to ask if something can be made w/o the meat. Or to order sides for your meal. If it is on the menu you can get a "side" of it also.

I also like the pasta at Plaza Inn, the chili bowl at Pacific Wharf Cafe (DCA), the vegetable stew at Riverbelle, there is a vegetrian gumbo at walk up place in New Orleans Square. A vegetable sandwhich at Carnation. And if you want something simple order the PBJ from the kids menu at any counter service. Or the Grilled Cheese from White Water Snacks at the Grand Californian. There is also cheese or veggie pizzas.
