Hi,

I got Jessica Seinfeld's book for Christmas and was going to give some of the recipes a try. My question is regarding the food processor. I have a big Cuisinart which I love, but I don't want to drag it out and put it together for the purees. I was thinking of getting a cheap Black & Decker chopper/mincer to do the pureeing. Will this work? I figure since the veggies are steamed first, it wouldn't be a problem. Let me know what you think. TIA

I bought a small Black & Decker chopper a long time ago for the same reason. It works great. Especially if your veggies are steamed.

hand held immersion blenders are also great to use. I used them when I use to make my own baby food.

Excellent! I do have an immerian blender also. Thank you ladies!

I also have this book and one shortcut I did was to use frozen squash when I made the macaroni and cheese. It came out awesome! I bought birds eye frozen "winter squash" in the frozen block. I just cooked it in the microwave and dumped it in the mac n cheese instead of making a puree. Easy easy easy!
