Food on airplanes

Thought about packing some snacks and checking as luggage. Don't know if I should pack a taped cardboard box or stuff it in a small suitcase. I've seen people report they actually bring a filled cooler and check it. How do you do that without it opening or anything else? Any tips?!

In light of the new security "concerns", I do'nt think I'd do that any more. What a paid to have to tape it back up again if they want to open it. I'd opt for the small suitcase. Please do'nt pack liquids. if you must, wrap them in several layers of well taped garbage bags, and then pad with a towel to absorb anything that leaks out. I had a suitcase and clothes ruined by someone who packed soda in their suitcase. It ruptured and leaked into my bag.

You may want to think about mailing (FedEx or UPS) yourself a package of snacks/food to the resort that you are staying at.

Or even check out NetGrocer or another site like that and have food sent to you at the resort.

Is this very costly to send food to the resorts? Also do the resorts mind receiving packages?

IMHO I do not think the hassle of schlepping food from home to the resort is worth it. A few snacks to nibble on while flying, OK. I don't think you will need drinks, the airline serves plenty of them.
